This sucks. I just noticed recently when I go over speed bumps, it is a little rough like something was loose. Took a look finally today. Saw some oil splatter in the front passenger wheel well. Took a look at the shock. Man I think its leaking oil 😣. Noticed some oil on the bottom of the shock. This is all new for me. I didn't even push this suspension. Been mostly mall crawling. I think ICON has a 12 month warranty something? I guess I am going to have to research and obviously remove this shock and replace. Dam this is going to suck 😭

Give them a call to see if they'll do anything. That's above disappointing.

Are there any Icon distributors or shock specialty shops near you since the shocks are rebuildable.
So if this was outside of warranty you'd need to pay for a $10 seal and then someone probably $75 to disassembled and replace the seal.

Hopefully Icon takes care of you though!

A buddy of mine has the same issue on a rear shock. Poor quality management for sure. Very abnormal for ICON.

Sucks you are dealing with this OP. I'm not saying Icon is a bad product, but I've seen enough of these type stories when I had a Tacoma that I never even considered them for the Tremor. They seem to be a premium price product with average QC and reliability.

ICON will cover under warranty. They will cover repair and shipping back, but I believe I have to pay for shipping there? Checking on that. They said about 2 weeks once they receive, and they will 2day it back to Hawaii. I will have to remove both front shocks and probably just put the stocks back. I will probably also have to put the stock rims and tires back on cause pretty sure the current set up will not clear. I asked if they could send me 1 shock to replace or if they sold just that 1 shock by itself and maybe help with a discount or something? They don't. Sucks. Glad I kept my stock parts. I also checked around if anybody here is able to just fix the seal and just get the shock up to par. No luck. Figured even if out of pocket, it would be cheaper than sending up and all that time and stuff. Yup this does suck. Being all the way in the middle of the Pacific isn't helping me either. 😣

Man, I hate this situation. Didnthey mention how quickly they could turn the rebuild around?

Wait, 2 weeks? Man, I'm saying some words verbally that are not appropriate, to post here.

Finally got my Front coilovers back from ICON. They did warranty the leak and paid for 2day shipping back here to Honolulu. Took about 3 weeks total. Not too bad considering I sent them up a couple days before Christmas and with the Holidays and all. I wanted them to check both since I took both off. They took care of me. Will install these back as soon as I have some time. 🥳

I had a shop put back my front coilovers but with the Finned Reservoirs added by ICON now. I kept my Stock rims and tires on for the time being. Found when I turn fully locked to the left, the tire rubs a little on that hose on the bottom of the resi. Circled red. It is just turning left and just very slight, but I can feel it. I believe that is the recommended spot by ICON. What I noticed is that the Resi are installed same spot on both sides. The side that rubs, the hose is not angled as close to the frame as the other and that is the reason for the slight rubbing. I actually took it back to the shop to make the adjustments, but they advised that is the ICON recommended spot and it is rubbing due to the backspacing on my OEM rims and tires. Anything greater than 5" backspacing will clear. ICON website states will clear with OEM rims and tires  🤷‍♂️. Anyone know what is the backspacing on the OEM rims? I was planning on calling ICON but can't wait till Monday lol.

All that being said I know my ICON Compression 18x9 +6 should clear with the 5.25" backspacing. Just eye balling it, I should be good. I still think the OEM rims and tires should clear.
Question I have since I am going to mess with this myself at this point, that nut I circled in blue. Am I able to just loosen a little to make the adjustments to that hose? I want to angle it closer to the frame like the other side. I am not too familiar with Resi and not trying to loosen that nut and oil / nitrogen or whatever else starts shooting out. Then I'll be back to sending them to ICON for repairs again. Appreciate any feedback.

Those fins are snazzy. Can they be rotated in the bracket or is that fixed to the fins?
For the compression nut, loosening it slightly (before it leaks) so you can twist it 5 degrees should be an issue

I'm pretty sure it's fixed to the fins but not 100%.
I think I'll try that. I wasn't too familiar on what that nut affected if loosened even slightly. I know there is Oil and I think Nitrogen so I was afraid if I loosen even slightly, I would let some oil or nitrogen out and throw off the whole shock.

Yeah, I get it. Maybe have the shop do it, if there is an issue, it's their issue

Called ICON. Yup It's a gamble. There is an O ring gasket behind that nut. I have maybe quarter turn before Oil and Nitrogen leaks out. They said yes it can be done all the way up to when the Oil / Nitrogen leaks out, then it becomes a No  . One or two drops of Oil is OK but anything more will throw the whole shock off. He said I will definitely know when the seal has been broken. I may just loosen very very minimal just to see if I can move it enough. If not, will leave it. Not worth the gamble. Not trying to send the shocks up a 2nd time. Also confirmed nobody in Hawaii is able to rebuild their shocks. ICON confirmed.

Figure I just post in case anybody was curious. I took a gamble and went ahead and loosened. 22mm nut. I just loosened very very minimally until I could move the hose. It was much less than the quarter turn. I felt like I was disarming a time bomb 😅. Nothing leaked out and didn't hear anything so all good.

How's the rub?

How's the rub?
No longer there but it is close. ICON stated it is supposed to clear even with the OEM set up. The non Finned Resi do sit flat against the frame but the Finned Resi have these 2 bolts that stick out a little to push it off the frame maybe 1/8". I could probably cut those bolts off but will leave it. I know it's a non-issue once I put my aftermarket Rims and Tires back on soon. It's just my OCD that I wanted it to clear with the OEM setup. :ROFLMAO:
