I am finalizing my build sheet for a 2022 Tremor and wanted to get some input from folks that have the twin panel moonroof & 2 KW Pro Power. Are these options worth getting or not?

On the twin panel moonroof is the cab noisy with it? Any rattling issues? Track Maintenance? Leaks?

For the 2KW Pro Power is the fan noisy in the cab?

Any other things that bother you all?

I am interested in the moonroof as well. I could still add it to my order, but have held off so far.

Not a money issue, more an issue with payload and I’ve just never used a sunroof in any of my vehicles. Obviously they weren’t this big though.

Anyone know the weight of a twin panel?

Only my opinion, but I opted out of moonroof on mine as I value a quiet cab and long term reliability (potential seal/track issues) over benefits of moonroof. I'm also the sort that would use it a lot so figured I'd be more likely to encounter these issues.

Ordered '22 401a through Granger.

Also, have you never seen Jurassic Park? Easy decision to opt out guys..

Well, I had it in my 2015. It really wasn’t noisy and it didn’t leak in 195,000 miles, BUT I had a terrible time getting it to open. It’s like it would stick and I’d have to hit the button for 20 minutes going down the road to get it to open. That being said, I ordered it on my Tremor hoping that they had worked out all of the kinks in the last 6 years.

I have the moon roof & love it!
I’m 6’1” and enjoy the openness I feel with the liner retracted. I had the same moon roof on my old truck & I never had any issues with it, including it surviving my truck being totaled by someone running a red light 🤬

The only negative I have found is it can get a bit warm in the middle of summer when out in the desert, but other than that no issues & LOVE the Open Feeling.

My truck came with the 2kw pro power & it is NOISY! I normally turn it off as soon as I get into the truck & would not have bought it if I had built my truck.

I just traded in a 2016 platinum that had the moonroof and while it did a fantastic job of keeping road and wind noise out it leaked intermittently at 45k miles , had a squeak that required $45 a tube lube, and the track exploded at 105k miles leaving it stuck 1/4 way open. I managed to get it closed after 2 hours of cussing and sweating and never opened it again . My moms 350 platinum has had the same issues. My new tremor has one, but only because it was on the lot, if I ordered it I would not have gotten the moonroof. It’s stunning, and I love the openness but damn the headache! Hopefully ford has redesigned it for ‘21.

I've had three new F150's and 3 Expeditions over the past 3 years (wife works at Ford :) and have had the moonroof on all of them. To me, it makes an already spacious cabin feel even larger and I love the extra light, and ability to crank the thing open when it's nice out. I've only ever had one issue and that is on my current Expedition where it got stuck half open. I took it in and some part on the track had snapped. I've ordered a 22 Tremor and that was the first option I put on it so I'm a big fan!

I have a 2021 Lariat currently with the moonroof and i just bought a 2021 tremor which I pick up on the 27th and I cant wait because it has the 2W. They to me are both awesome.

Mine was pre-ordered (I reserved) with the moonroof. I normally do not like them in general.. however, I find myself enjoying the extra sunlight in the interior. If I ordered, I would have use that extra cost for the Torsion front and the 360 cameras

I have the moon roof and 2kw pro power on my Tremor. There doesn’t seem to be much wind noise with the moon roof…unless it’s open. 🤣 And I love the natural light coming into the truck on a beautiful day.

As for the pro power… it’s very noisy to me. I turn it off immediately. I’m still glad I have it, though. Also, I heard that Ford knows about the noise issue and hopefully is working on an update to fix it.

I have the moon roof in my 2015 and have never had an issue with it. Ordered both the moonroof and Pro Power in my 402A through Granger.

Agree. The T-Rex attack angle is the primary reason why I opted out of the moonroof. But the quiet cab and simplicity was a close second.

They are both awesome features, you never know when you may need a generator and the more sunlight you can get, the better IMO.

Haven't had issues with the moonroof in my 2021 Tremor or 2017 Lariat (not kept in a garage) with leaking, operation or noise. My passengers love how much light and openness the roof brings in, but less noticeable for the front seats.

Have the 2kw power and whatever fan cooling noise is going on back there is only mildly noticeable when I am stopped with no music playing. Makes me think that there is climate control blowing at a low level, but don't notice it when driving.

I have the twin panel moon roof not the gen. In regards to the noise, I have takin a 2 hour road trip in medium/heavy rain it it was definitely loud in the cab. To date no issues with the operation or leaks but I’ve only owned this truck for a little over a month. I have also had Fords twin panel moon roof in our 2018 Exploder with no issues/leaks. I can honestly say I didn’t think I would keep the shade open/back as often as I do- as you can imagine it really “opens up” the interior.

Every moonroof I've had in a car has developed a leak at some point. Plus I am tall and wanted more headroom. I ordered the 2kw power, I have read that the noise was a 2021 issue, hopefully resolved for 2022.

Took me awhile to find a 402A without the moonroof within a reasonable distance, but I finally did. The (subjective) benefits of a moonroof did not outweigh the issues they sometimes introduce, in my opinion.

Glad you were able to find what you wanted! Now you know you’ll be safe from dinosaur attacks. 🤣

I'm not the only one that puts safety first and sometimes T-rex is on the loose @JPO
