If you open the driver side door while the truck is running and in drive, it will automatically put itself in park.

I’m not sure I find that very handy in a offroad vehicle or a tow vehicle for that matter.

I hope there is a way to shut that feature off.

I am trying to understand why this is an issue — is this more of a backing up thing? Is it jumping in the truck to move it a very short distance with the door open like I see them do at the carwash?

I understand from other discussions on this issue that you may be able defeat the safety park by opening the door prior to putting it in drive or reverse.

Yes it’s super irritating when you are trying to hook on to something and have to shut the dumb door, fasten your seat belt, turn on your hazards, and blink your eyes three times just to move your truck two inches to hook on. It’s a completely unnecessary feature that is just a nuisance.

I’ll look for a Forscan setting that may turn it off — I haven’t seen one posted on the Forscan forums yet, although I am sure a solution may soon be posted as others also want this changed.

Do you do the Forscan yourself or do you go somewhere to have that done?

Ford won't do it for you. The software is free, but you'll need a Windows computer with an adapter to hook up to your truck. There are a few out there, but this one was recommended on the Raptor forum. I still need to buy this to turn off the double-honk and the auto shutoff, just been lazy about it.

Cool. This is all completely new to me. Is it pretty easy to use?

Never done it, but I've seen many people talk about walkthroughs posted online.

I assume you hook up, download the baseline config as a factory backup, change what you want and save it. You can even do things like have the mirrors fold in when you shutoff the rig or change the daytime running lights. I'm pretty sure it's all code based, so you'll have to do a bit of preparatory research.

I’ve used it on my 2019 and the Tremor — its pretty straight forward. You buy the cable and need a widows laptop to run the application. I changed up the lights and dash temps with it recently:

1. Set Bambi Mode (Fog lights stay on when brights are on)
2. Enabled Digital Temps for Transmission and Coolant.

There is a lot you can change with the application — I posted the code sheet and links on another thread:

Here is a link to the cable I bought:

Be cautious and read up on how to use it so you don’t do harm to the modules — always backup. I suspect if you mess it up, it won’t be covered by warranty — just adding that in there because its a modification to the truck.

There is a screen grab of some of the more popular changes you can make (some of these you won’t need like autofolding mirrors — its a setting on the Tremor):

Cool. That’s good information. Not sure I have the balls to attempt it, but it’s nice to know I have the option to if said balls are located.

It’s not all that difficult — in fact some of the modules are simplified to allow you to toggle popular settings on and off instead of inputting numbers.
