Hi all, new to the forum. Found a 2014 fx2 tremor I'm interested in. Per the carfax the head gasket, water pump gasket, and intake manifold gaskets have been replaced. The truck has 55k on the clock.

Obvious red flags to me having the motor cracked open with so few miles.

I haven't found any issues or recalls for these online and wanted to reach out and see if anyone else has any knowledge of premature failures related to this model.

Thanks in advance!

Couple of articles referencing which F150 model years are better than others:

While these articles indicate the 2014 model year is good, I'd go with your gut feeling on this particular truck and skip it. Makes you wonder if antifreeze has gotten in the oil. With this lower mileage; has it been driven by a little old lady to church and the grocery store or has it been broke down or in a repair shop?

Thanks! According to the Carfax 1st owner had it 6 yrs then it was a trade in, went to an auto auction, then another dealer bought it and did the gaskets shortly after (in Sept. 2021) all before current dealer took it in. I imagine first owner may have abused or neglected the truck (or maybe both). Oh well onto the next!

They are a nice truck if you find a good one. I had one and it was trouble free. Probably the best F-150 I've owned.

Thanks! I'm going to keep looking. With the motor being cracked open so early not sure what the deal is but given I have a trouble free vehicle now I don't want to take the gamble.

I have a 2014 FX4 that I'm about to list. Great truck, other than a rear main seal (which I think is common) and a couple of little electrical things that were earlsy to correct. 68k miles in SE PA
