Hello,

Been looking for a truck since last July. Had an allocation for a manual Tacoma to be delivered in May, but Toyota pulled it from production shortly after allocating. Got in line for a Tundra, but got cold feet due to first-model-year issues, capability re actual truck stuff (towing and payload) and, if I'm being honest, aesthetics.

Had a '99 bare bones XL 150 (A/C and V8 were the only options). Great truck. Changed oil, brakes, tires and batteries until 120k, when I had to replace the clutch. Gave it to my brother-in-law who put another 150k on it with minimal repair expense. Had an '05 FX4 150 that was also a great truck (mostly, the alternator and some window switches went out under warranty). Sold it about '11 with 120k. So, I needed little convincing to consider another Ford.

Started lurking here about six weeks ago. Worked up an order with Granger. Revised that order and was about to pull the trigger. Side note, Chip was very helpful, responsive and patient with me. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Then my wife found a Tremor inbound to an in-state dealer the day it hit their inventory (she's lucky like that, and I suppose I'm luckier still). It's more loaded (read: expensive) than I was hoping for, but I absolutely need to take delivery of a truck this year for business and tax purposes.

I put a deposit down and now I get to "party" with y'all for a while. Hopefully not too long. No offense, it's a great bunch best I can tell.

Ox White 402a, moonroof, interior work surface, bed utility, start/stop delete, trailer tow, B&O unleashed, etc. Dealer order date 2/8/22; blend date 5/11/22. Dealer told me they've been hitting their floor within 4-8 weeks of hitting inventory, maybe sooner. Obviously I don't believe them after the horror stories here.

Congratulations, and welcome aboard. There is a lot of knowledge and humor here…..enjoy.

Don’t let the horror stories scare you off. The main reason is Ford ran out of chips in the middle of Jan. They started parking built F150’s and other cars that needed chips (I’ve heard 50k units) and then it’s taken them a while to get them finished.

With that said… they seem to have their act together if you have a build date and can avoid a chip shortage. Some trucks are built the same day or next from their blend date.

I suspect you’ll see the truck in early June unless their is some other “chip” shortage upcoming.

Looking forward to it. Thanks.

This makes sense and puts me at ease. Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum I guess.....

I'm mad though so we are not friends. Almost exact same truck I ordered in December and you'll get it before me.

Dude, just think of that extra ten grand you'll have with that sweet sweet Granger price protection and discount.

I hate spending money so that shit hurt for real. I have a ride and LOVE a deal. I would have absolutely waited for Granger if I had some assurance they'd deliver by end of year. Chip told me flat out expect 6-8 months wait last week, so best case I was looking at November by my count. Too close for comfort.

Come to think of it, PM me for tradesies lol.

Haha no just ribbing you, you made the right call I think. Who knows what other features you might lose between now and delivery.

Yeah there's that too for sure. Even if I could wait until '23, how long and at what cost with price increases and option deletes?

Oh well, just have to make more money between now and delivery. Back to work!

Picked her up Saturday but I've been too busy enjoying and paying for her to post the update.

Truck referenced above is still in shipping purgatory. Dealer called me about two weeks ago with an almost identical truck but with some additional options -- 2kw (nice, but not a must for my use case), torsen (same), factory spray-in bedliner (sweet, would have done this myself), and blue cruise (could not have cared less about this).

All told, about $4k in options that I got for 2 and change due to a lower base price for this earlier order date and lower tow package price (??). Don't know if I got away with one there or what.

In any event, she's a beaut and far nicer (and faster) than I expected. I can't get my head around the idea that there are trim levels above the 402a cowboy Cadillac 🤣

Have you used blue cruise yet? I actually didn’t want it and needed up in a truck with it. Pretty happy I’ve got it now.

I've only used it a few times. I'm afraid it'ill become one of those things I can't understand how I lived without.
