Hello,
Been looking for a truck since last July. Had an allocation for a manual Tacoma to be delivered in May, but Toyota pulled it from production shortly after allocating. Got in line for a Tundra, but got cold feet due to first-model-year issues, capability re actual truck stuff (towing and payload) and, if I'm being honest, aesthetics.
Had a '99 bare bones XL 150 (A/C and V8 were the only options). Great truck. Changed oil, brakes, tires and batteries until 120k, when I had to replace the clutch. Gave it to my brother-in-law who put another 150k on it with minimal repair expense. Had an '05 FX4 150 that was also a great truck (mostly, the alternator and some window switches went out under warranty). Sold it about '11 with 120k. So, I needed little convincing to consider another Ford.
Started lurking here about six weeks ago. Worked up an order with Granger. Revised that order and was about to pull the trigger. Side note, Chip was very helpful, responsive and patient with me. I can't recommend them highly enough.
Then my wife found a Tremor inbound to an in-state dealer the day it hit their inventory (she's lucky like that, and I suppose I'm luckier still). It's more loaded (read: expensive) than I was hoping for, but I absolutely need to take delivery of a truck this year for business and tax purposes.
I put a deposit down and now I get to "party" with y'all for a while. Hopefully not too long. No offense, it's a great bunch best I can tell.
Ox White 402a, moonroof, interior work surface, bed utility, start/stop delete, trailer tow, B&O unleashed, etc. Dealer order date 2/8/22; blend date 5/11/22. Dealer told me they've been hitting their floor within 4-8 weeks of hitting inventory, maybe sooner. Obviously I don't believe them after the horror stories here.
