Livernois will never be able to tune the ‘23 3.5 Ecoboost

I have been communicating with Livernois about getting a tuner and tune for my ‘23 3.5 Ecoboost Tremor and have now confirmed they say they will never be able to tune the ‘23 unless they replace the entire ECU and you bring your truck to Michigan! I bought my ‘23 expecting to be able to tune it based on their advertising at the time. It has since been changed. I probably would have bought a ‘22 had I known this. My tuned ‘18 Platinum was a beast.
I know it isn’t Livernois fault but dayum. Here is their response to my most recent follow up.

“We can do them right now but it involves bringing it here they will never be able to be tune remote. It requires a new ecm that is unlocked for $1100 then we have to reprogram all the modules. Sorry to inform you of this but 2023 is the only way to do these trucks.”

I understand it is the number of bits used in the new ECU but they were not that clear.

You can still tune just not the easy way, will need to go with one of the tunes you send your ECU in to get flashed, or something like a JB4. There's still hope!

I’ve had several ford vehicles tuned by 5 Star tuning. Hit them up about my 5.0 and of course SCT didn’t have any support for 2023s.

They let me know Monday SCT added support. X4 is on its way. I’ll have it Friday and might have tunes by then. If not it’ll be sometime early next week. I’ll post up here. I think the 3.5 might have support too. I’ll ask and post back.

That is not what they said. You must bring your entire truck to Michigan. They are going to put a whole different ECU in it and then manually tune each module. They said they will never be able to remote tune. You won’t be able to remove it when you take it to the dealer and there is no question your warranty would be voided as to anything related to the engine performance.

I reached out to them again and they said 3.5 strategies are supported. I'll report back but intend on running their e85 tune basically forever unless we travel where I can't get it (it's a flex fuel tune so not a big deal).

With them you can't do it, but other companies you send them your ECU and they send you one back, or yours flashed.

Well, not as smooth sailing as I was hoped. Basically, SCT doesn't have my strategy yet, and I can't get it to read the stock file off my truck. So now we wait.

That is not an option with a brand new truck. I liked being able to remove the tune and return to stock when taking the truck to a dealer.

Find me a 402a Avalanche with torsion diff, B&O option, tow pkg, work station, no pos sun roof and less than 300 miles and I might be interested. Otherwise it is a big rip.

Beggers can't be choosers, but there are some available with low thousands of miles (you're talking a few months of driving, you'll forget the difference between that and 300 miles when you're... Going fast)

You're either fast or your truck is avalanche color. Or you pay fat stacks for a wrap on a '22 after you tune it so you look good while you're also fast.

2023 5.0 support was added a week ago. So we're good now!

HPTuners has support for 2021-2022 3.5 ecoboost/powerboost, and I'm sure 2023+ will be on the way.

SCT is working on the '23 Ecoboosts but no love yet. I went by their facility last week to let them use my truck to try to get the X4 to work. My truck has a 12/8/22 manufacture date so we were hoping it could be tuned but we could not download the stock tune to allow anything else. The X4 couldn't read the tune.

While they are working hard....who knows...

As I understand it, Livernois still requires you to bring the truck to Michigan for an ECU swap and the an in-house tune. No remote capabilities at this point.
