Long travel issues

Alright guys, I am working with Camburg to try and retro fit a gen 2 Raptor long travel kit....but they are saying there is some sort of cylinder associated with Blue Cruise that keeps the coilovers from mounting properly? I am not sure how that is the case because they have to use the same bucket placement. Maybe the bypass shocks?

Either way, does anyone know what cylinder this could be?

Normal you have to cut the stock coil bucket out and install larger ones to make room for the bigger shocks. I wonder if they are worried about this sensor. I have seen Raptor swapped current Gen's but not with BC.

I was wondering something similar...I haven't seen it done either, but I didn't think that would be in the way of the bucket...I am guessing I'm wrong now though.

But I am working with a couple companies now to see if that is in fact the issue and if it can be resolved.

As of right now, it isn't offered with it. Ford says they're trying to make it compatible, but something about a software conflict wont let it. They did actually have it so you could order it, but they canceled it and refunded the package price on those that opted for it.

Maybe this same issue I'm trying to figure out as well, that would explain some things. Otherwise we could just swap those parts I would assume.

My Brother has a Gen 3 Raptor, I will take a look at it. But you would have to get it out of the way to cut and weld the new bucket in. Then put it back, not sure what it does. But my guess is like all the suspension people. They don't want to R&D anything for the Tremor, BlueCruise, PowerBoost, ect...

Yeah that's my guess as well. It's too small of a market to be concerned with, especially for the amount of time and money. Unfortunately for me I suppose.

I still may be able to get away with it if I just don't use a bypass...baja kits has a long travel that uses the stock bucket and gen 1 raptor coilovers (gen 1 raptor coilovers fit 21+ F150s buckets). Only thing then is if the upper control arms will hit that piece when at full droop...

And I'd need a .25" wheel spacer

Did you always have the Performance Elite Fox shocks?

When I ordered the PE kit Fox was back ordered on the PE's. They sent me the spacer to run until they came in. Had the UCA's powder coated while I waited.

My brother sent me this poor pick of his sensor. So the Gen 3 Raptor has it and no BlueCruise. So this must do something else.

How do you like the suspension feel of the PE compared to just the spacer?

Have you made any adjustments to the front PE’s or found any sweet spots for road or off road?

@Fozzy, I'm pretty certain that linkage has to do with the headlights, it's tied to the sensor that adjusts the headlights, that's why certain UCAS will not work.

The spacers ride just like the stock Tremor. I am probably not the best person to ask about ride. I have always had performance suspension and enjoy that style of ride. I personally think the stock Tremor rides like crap. Way to soft and zero rebound control what's so ever. The front end dips and dives worse than a boat. But I get it, Ford has made these new truck ride more like a sedan than a truck. When I hear people say the RC struts ride like stock, I think why buy them. The Fox PE's set in the middle ride like typical Fox OE replacements. Way more street mannered than say an ICON. Better control and feel vs a Bilstien and very similar to an out of the box KING. Much firmer and way more controlled. Excessive rebound is gone and in general a great riding shock. The only difference between the PE's and the regular 2.5's is the PE's have an aluminum body vs steel and new stickers. I have taken the low speed down a couple clicks from center and will be slowly taking it to the softest setting and go from there. I want to try and get the concrete roadway joint bounce out. That's my only real complaint. But I have not had them off road much. It's winter again in Utah so it might me a while before I get out on the trails.

Good info, I haven't adjusted mine at all from how they came in the box but coming from the auto spring spacer which was fine with me the 6 inch BDS lift w Fox coilovers feels effortless how it absorbs bumps at speed and has drastically better articulation. I love my set up meow.

So, again getting replies from more companies and getting even more lost. RPG and baja kits both say that the truck can run their kits with ACC and Blue Cruise. So I am very unsure what "cylinder" would be in the way....

Anyways, for anyone wondering though, that sensor is a "live valve ride height" sensor.

The Tremor does not have live valveing. But you should just go for it. BlueCruise is over rated and doesn’t like big tires.

Correct, it's just a name. It uses it for other features that are adjusted by ridee height/angles. Headlights for instance.

So, little update: the reason the kits, and even raptor swaps depending on your trim, don't work is because our live valve ride height sensor will not mate to Raptor upper control arms.

RPG's BOLT kit will accept this sensor and that is why they said their will work. Same for Baja kits, they use the stock upper arm I believe.

Camburg is actually trying to create a billet arm linkage bracket that will fix this issue, but until then, it won't work. Which is the same for anyone wanting to raptor swap higher trim Tremors or f150s with this sensor (according to them).
