A few weeks ago my driver's side DRL started to flicker and strobe like crazy, it is throwing a body code (I will try and get that again to post it here). Been pulled over a few times for it, told them i was working on it. Was told by my Dealership to bring it in, because it was a software issue. It was not that simple of course. Brought to my dealership, they told me it is the Headlight Control Module and I would need a whole new headlight, which is covered under warranty, which is great, except my dealership will not touch it because of the winch bumper. Ok....I get it, dealership doesn't want the responsibility because of the aftermarket part, understandable, not upset about it as I knew the risk of putting on.
My issue here is that after some research, I found that my Headlight Control Module is actually under my steering column in the cab? Of course more research says it is simply the headlight, which of course means the whole thing needs to be replaced because of the design, and that will fix the strobing issue. I would imagine if it was just a software issue it would have been fixed as it seems this is a know issue with these DRLs between 2021-2023, mine is a 2023. More down the rabbit hole I went and apparently an option is I can just get aftermarket headlight replacements like the Diode Dynamics Elites (My fog lights and off road lights are all Diode Dynamics which are all great!), and it will fix the problem. I have provided a video below of the issue. Anyone else dealt with this? And if you did what was your solution?
