This may just be me being new to these trucks but it seems when a stone (or anything) hits underneath, it's very loud. I hadn't had this issue with my previous (non-Ford) trucks so any feedback would be appreciated.

Do you have rear wheel well liners?

I do. This sounds like stones hitting aluminum. really tinny.
Fresh AT tires, I have undercoat so it deadens it quite a bit.

Undercoat it yourself or did you have it done? Is it literally just spray on liquid rubber or what is the coating?
I'm all ears as to the best way to go, here.

These tires are notorious for picking up gravel, the wheel well liners help but using a decent undercoat will complete the sound proofing. On a side note the falken at3w tires do not pick up as much gravel.

Do you have undercoat AND the liners? I would think the undercoating wouldn't help much once the liners are put on.
Only husky liners currently. I'm guessing it's the armor since that all seems to be aluminum anyway

I had it done by the Linex guys. I also pick up an extra can and hit any spots they miss.

I have the Husky liners and the undercoat.

I’m hearing the same thing Yeti. I thought mud flaps would solve if but nope. I think it’s stones hitting the running board. I also have wheel well liners.

I wonder if the stick-on sound deadening material on the back of the liners would more good than the undercoating.

Same here even with mudflaps and rear wheel liner. Definitely hitting the running board underneath.

Mine does the same thing. Rocks are being kicked up and hitting your running boards.

Rocks hit my running boards all of the time, even with mud flaps. It happens about every time I hit the pavement after going down my gravel driveway. Personally I don't really care.
