What lug nuts are everyone going to? I purchased a set from Lug Nut Guys a few years back, and they are starting to rust.

Gorilla lugs here. I have also noticed some rust developing at the front edge. Not major but enough to maybe replace at some point

I couldn't justify McGards this time, so I went gorilla. I don't rotate tires (shoot me), so they don't come off. Paint is a little thinner than McGards, and I'd be a little nervous about impact wrenches often, but for my purposes I torque wrenched them once and they're good. Heard OEM bloat (two-piece) so I went aftermarket (plus they're black, huge bonus for me).

It's almost as if the black lug nuts are a 'wear' component. Eventually, through impact wrenches (sooner) or just carefully wrenching them by hand (later) they're going to develop rust on the edges/contact points. Replace for +/- $30 every couple of years, IMO, as I'm tired of worrying about them.

That was my thought this time (replace, though 4x the $30 you mentioned, but not as high as McGards ($300+))...I also live on the beach (salt water).

Use this, solves the problem.

No idea on the brand of lugs the shop I bought my Fuel wheels through used. They are black and I noticed a tiny bit of rust starting to form so I pulled them off, brake cleaned, light sanding and used anti-rust paint to finish them again. I'll see if that holds up.

what do you mean you couldn’t justify McGards? They are the gold standard (or black if you want to match your rims). Excuse me how much was your truck? 🙄

I was hoping no one would catch that, lol. Very true and good point. Just thought I'd try something different.

It's OK, I still have the chrome ones that came with the truck. However, I don't notice the difference at 80 mph!

I bought some black ones off Amazon. Forget what the brand is but they had good reviews. I got an impact socket from Milwaukee that is made to not mar painted lug nuts. A little pricey for a socket but it works pretty good.
