" I haven't noticed anyone posting about it. built on August 12th hold for IP and Badges ever since. ordered Feb 28th with deposit, and the order wasn't entered until 4/4/2022.....Pretty bad when you work for them!

I joked about waiting for orange paint.. Is this really saying people have been waiting a month for badges??

(and IP cluster I guess)

Yes its true. All of Ford has ran out of badges! A factory that builds them had some major issues needless today.

Where did you come about that info? I haven't seen anything that detailed before.

If it's historic, I'd love to see why my truck was held back in March. I have an idea, but knowing for sure would be cathartic.

If I had to venture a guess, it’s probably because he’s a Ford employee. What he’s showing makes sense with Ford’s statement about 40-45k ‘vehicles on wheels’ or incomplete product. In these reports they stated that the holds currently aren’t silicon related, but rather part related. His screenshot shows basic commodity level components are the hold up (IPC aside). So it looks like my order is on hold for branding/badging.

I deal with supply constraints, shortages, etc daily and this seems head-scratchingly strange, but some of my most commonly used materials are the hardest to obtain.

I can see everything :censored: any vin you got for a Ford. For now…Im not going to post everything i can see about ford vehicles but i don't mind sharing some info. Heck we just want to know as we are customers. Im a customer to, and it sucks!

"Ford Motor Co. has delayed deliveries of certain vehicles because it didn’t have the blue oval badges that go on them, in another example of how supply-chain challenges have hit auto makers.

The car company has run into supply constraints with the brand-name badges and the nameplates that specify the model, according to people familiar with the matter. Both parts are affixed to the vehicle’s exterior and are important identifiers for the auto maker’s products. A company spokesman confirmed it has held some vehicle shipments because of a lack of badges.

The shortage is impacting Ford’s popular F-Series pickup trucks, the people said.

Ford executives had considered some workarounds, such as 3-D printing the insignia until the permanent ones could be obtained, some of the people said. But they didn’t feel the printed substitutions would meet the bar on quality, these people said.

The Ford spokesman said the company is building and shipping trucks with the blue oval badges and is retrofitting those built without a Ford logo and delivering them to dealers. The company declined to comment on the 3-D printing proposal.

Ford on Monday said it expects to have about 40,000 to 45,000 vehicles in inventory at the end of the third quarter that couldn’t be shipped to dealers because they were awaiting needed parts. Many of these vehicles are high-margin trucks and SUVs and the shortages primarily involved parts other than semiconductors, the company said.

Ford declined to comment on whether the difficulties getting badges contributed to that shortfall.

A Michigan-based supplier that has made badges for Ford in the past had to limit operations in August, after disclosing to Michigan regulators it had discharged industrial chemicals into a local sewer system, according to city and state officials. The supplier, Tribar Technologies, Inc., specializes in decorative exterior trim for automotive, including making badges and lettering for vehicles. The company’s website shows it has made the insignia for Ford models previously, including the 2021 F-150 pickup truck.

Tribar confirmed it is a current supplier to Ford, declining to comment further on its client. The supplier said its facilities are now operating at full production and the incident isn’t impacting operations. In regards to the discharge, Tribar said its filtration system and a city wastewater treatment plant appear to have captured the chemicals before there was any material environmental impact on a local river.

Ford declined to comment on whether Tribar’s limited operations were connected to the auto maker’s name-badge shortage. The global auto industry has been wrestling with various supply-chain disruptions for more than a year, but most of the shortages have revolved around a lack of semiconductors.

Ford’s trouble getting nameplates and badges illustrates that even the most basic parts can be hard to come by, resulting in constraints that can have larger repercussions on a company’s ability to fulfill vehicle orders."

DErp, re-read and see that now.

Suppliers doing dirty stuff all over the U.S. And in foreign countries they get away from the regulations hence why we use them for manufacturing vs American companies.

i didn’t mean to come across as snarky.

Ford admitted it today on car scoops website and I’m sure many other. What sucks is I was gonna order my wife the new Ford mustang tomorrow in GT convertible but now I’m thinking about waiting

That's crazy! I would rather have the truck without badges if it came down to that for sure. However it's showing chip hold, are they really gonna ship them without badges? Unreal if they have to but they might need too!

I’m sure they’d prefer to ship the truck complete. And I’m sure I’d prefer to receive the truck complete with everything. A client of mine owns a body shop and the GM vehicles are driving him nuts because they’re being shipped without modules in the hope that the dealer will install them at some point.

Yah your right as well, I guess it would even look goofy without the oval on there, eh I just cross my fingers and pray that it will show up soon!!

I’m not sure which is worse, waiting for a complete truck; or waiting for a dealer to install my heated seats because the factory said ‘push it.’ Actually, I’d prefer it come to me with everything versus trusting a dealership. But thats my opinion.
