Moonroof pop-up wind deflector flew off

Guys! Please help, was driving down the highway today, going about 75-80mph, with the moonroof open when all of the sudden a loud popping noise and the sight of the wind deflector flying down the road behind me. Appears as though the plastic clips simply snapped off. Was this due to speed? Is there somewhere that says not to open the moonroof at higher speeds? Is this going to be covered by warranty? Truck is only 2 weeks old. Any advice is appreciated

So this was definitely something that wasn’t supposed to happen, meaning it wasnt due to me having it open at 80mph? Have you or anyone else had their’s open at high speeds with no issues?

I’ve drove that fast with mine open a time or two and no issues thus far. Sucks that happened. Now I’m slightly concerned about doing that again.

I don’t yet have my truck but I can confirm that is not normal so should be taken care of promptly.

Glass started rattling violently, was afraid the glass was going to break too. Luckily was able to slow down and close it quickly

I was going 95 the weekend before last with mine open and didn't have an issue while traveling 85 miles on interstate. But yes it absolutely will be covered under warranty.

Sounds a lot like a resonance issue. I would expect For will cover that without an issue. Maybe send Ford customer service a note and mention what could have happened if a motorcycle were behind you.

Honestly loving mine with the warmer weather, but I wouldn't have ordered it this way, price you pay for buying off the lot.

I'm just jealous. I can't fit in a car with a sun roof.
