- Mountain Yak (2021 F150 Tremor)
First, I name my vehicles. But I'll need to get into it a bit before it can earn a name. My previous overland vehicle was Squirrel.
As I add different items to the truck, I'll update the running list on this post and pictures below.
Meet Mountain Yak.
Man these things have sinus issues
After 2000 miles 50% road 50% trail/non-pavement, I've decided this is a sure footed mule for a Yeti...
11/10 - Husky Xact floor liners
11/11 - spoke with Granger about a full wrap, black cab and "extra" bit all potentially with ceramic coat. Also getting the front windows tinted to match the back.
11/21 - delivered to Granger Ford
11/22+ - fidget until it's my truck.
11/25 - ordered Builtright Industries racks and some accessories
11/26 - ordered Bedrug and Husky wheel well liners
11/27 - Bed Rug bed liner delivered
12/6 - The truck is mine!!!!! - floor mats installed, woohoo! oh, wait. that's not a thing..
12/9 - Ordered Fuel Offroad Rebel 6 18x9 ET20 (5) Received them 1/6/22
July 22 Front Icon 2.5 VS RR CVCD
May 22 Bilstien 5165
existing ARB twin compressor on aux switch
Builtright bed panels
8/12/22 Super Pacific X1 installed
8/13/22 renogy DC to DC 50A charger
8/13/22 existing home made 2.5 kwh house battery
existing Iceco VL75D Pro fridge
8/17/22 50" Rigid Radiance plus SR - RGB backlight single row
9/18/22 Cobb intercooler - front mount
9/25/22 Swarfworks hidden winch mount
9/25/22 smittybilt X20 12K - on/off and aux light switch 5
10/02/22 added honeycomb ABS grid around the winch fairlead
shortly afterward, removed the honeycomb around the winch for something a bit more... illuminating. Added honeycomb for the main grill
12/6/22 - Happy birthday! Replaced the felt transmission cover with the RCI transmission skid plate with catalytic converter protection.
Planned
~2" lift - product pending
1/7/22 ordered Eibach Pro level 2.0 - This didn't work as expected. It did give increased ride height but at the cost of droop and ride quality. Effectively, the droop was non-existent. After I normalized the ride height to a reasonable articulation, there was about 1/2" added ride height and 1/2" increased droop. The ride once I reduced the ride height was definitely improved over stock. These guys really to their springs, well. I also tried the rear shocks which had much more dampening and added about 3/8 inch lift in the back of an empty bed. The stock rear shocks are extremely light and may only be good for washboard roads at higher speed (until they fade)
Deavers +1 HD
Deaver Springs +3 HD Went with Icon option 3.
in bed spare tire carrier - Wilco?
Purchased but not installed - Hidden winch (preferred) or replacement front winch bumper - intercooler relocation
White-Knuckle Off Road sliders - removed the old ones from my Ram Rebel. Damn these are beefy!
RSI Smartcap - Apparently, I've been bamboozled and this husky we're fostering is ours.... 3 huskies can't fit in the back seat area without much blood and fur. Smartcap it is.
Replace PPF. It's been good but not great. This will be my third replacement. So far, the original paint looks fantastic!
