After several additional delays and after waiting eight weeks for initial shipment, my dealer installed it as of two days ago. I know there are several others here that have gone this route, and thus far I can tell you I’m very pleased. It definitely gives the truck the attitude I was hoping for, as I’ve had several 3.5’s prior and loved them and the serious low-end torque as I tow boats often. But the availability of the dealer installed and warranted supercharger was what sent me in the 5.0 direction back in August and now I have no regrets whatsoever. The power is awesome and the sound is off the chain. However, I’m contemplating an exhaust upgrade but not really wanting to replace the stock muffler-back duals, and not seeing too many muffler-only options, so I’m definitely interested in suggestions. The Ford Performance manual which came with the kit actually states, (see pic) that a Cat-back exhaust system is a “good idea for added safety and performance.” Safety? I like to be safe. The only minimal downsides include mandatory 91 or higher octane fuel, which I was using anyway, 5W-50 oil as opposed to stock 5W-20, and changing spark plugs every 20k miles. The kit also came with a new “5W-50” labeled oil filler cap and a sticker that’s now on the inside of the fuel door that states MINIMUM 91 OCTANE FUEL. Another not necessarily negative point, and not associated with the supercharger or it’s installation, is that the truck is apparently still electronically governed to a 105 mph speed limit. And that now arrives in just about 12 seconds supposedly. A first world problem I know, but I’ll still research it and would love any experienced feedback on that as well.
Cheers!

Noooiiicccceee!!! I had my Whipple installed back in June on my 23 402A I picked up brand new on the trailer back in Feb 2024. Think i had 2,700 miles on it... Decided to go purchase from Whipple themselves because they were running a 15% off sale at the time for Labor day, offers more hp and torque than the FP kit, and carries same warranty with Ford tech or ASME cert. install.

I replace my mid-section with the Borla S-type kit when they finally gave their "blessing" and said it would work. I had a feeling it would but wanted to make sure as far as length as such. I've used Borla on my other performance vehicles and liked their sounds, although I contemplated making a Bassani muffler to work but too many irons in the fire as it is now, lol. There's Corsa also and AWE as well as a few others, just have to research others. As for fuel grade, around me it goes from 89 to 93 so no getting around that.

Enjoy, I know I have.

Give me a few more longer mileage trips, and maybe 252AMB5OH can weigh in also. I did take a 250+ mile trip just after picking it up and saw 19.5 while averaging approximately 73-78 mph (8 over the limit) with min wind. On the return trip, I was only at 17 mpg at the same speeds but into a 10-20 headwind, hence why I’d like a few more tests. Making the similar run prior I was about 1 mpg better, or 20.5+/-. It’s hard thus far to do an overall avg after just a few days as I’m on the throttle significantly more than with the original setup. From what I’ve read, it’s expected to suffer somewhat with the loss of cylinder deactivation. And thx 252AMB5OH for the exhaust tip. Exactly what I wanted!

No problem. As for mileage, It's like anything else when it comes to performance based upgrades... The more foot you add, the more fuel the vehicle takes away, lol. I usually stay in the high 15 to breaking 16 putting around town, stop light to stoplight. That's no fun by the way and I'm in my over 45 but not close enough to 50 age bracket. When I'm on the highway, interstate, or long straights where i can go usually 5 to 7 over with CC I'm getting high 19s and on up depending on traffic, outside temps, etc.

This past summer we spent a week on the beach non-stop driving in 4H and it didn't hurt the gas needle nearly as bad as my 20 did last summer, given the differences in tank sizes, one a 36 and the other a 23? respectively.

Take a look at the Borla S Type system for the TREMORS.
You can go full exhaust or just use their mid section and keep the stock exhaust pipes.
In my opinion, the stock TREMOR exhaust pipes in matte black looks just fine.

Thanks guys for the direction! I’m definitely going this route with the Borla Mid-section S-type, Part no. 60731.

I bet she runs like a raped ape 😂
I did 8psi procharger on my 7.3 Tremor. Shop dyno wasn’t big enough for my truck but they said I should be in the 650hp range

Love it! I’ve got the 700hp supercharger on mine as well and I agree about the exhaust. I am going with the Flowmaster FlowFX to keep it in that mid-range for a daily but also aggressive when I want it to be. Look forward to hearing how yours sounds when it’s done!

What fender flares are those?

Did you disable cylinder deactivation?

@ReidPfromNC I'd be interested in your report once you've towed your boat, including boat weight. Especially compared to your past 3.5s. I'm in Charlotte too so I tow my Grady down to OIB a couple times a year. I'd considered the 5.0/Supercharger but was concerned about long term reliability.

In this short time since the SC install, every time I’ve mentioned fuel mileage to my buddies, they either look at me like, or tell me that, I’m crazy, as I do pay way too much attention to it, but mainly on the Hwy. And just last afternoon/evening, like several wks ago, I made a 150 mile each way trip from from Charlotte to Raleigh, with a slight west wind (yep, I check my weather app) and only going 5 over, so mostly 70-75 mph, and got 19.5 going and 17.7 coming home, and didn’t really get on it once🙄. Around and across town on my daily 10 mile each way commute, if I stay out of it I’m at 14.0-ish. But therein lies the problem, at least for me, in that I can’t drive this thing and pretend there’s not nearly 700hp on tap. So realistically, I’m most likely gonna end up at 10-12 around town and 17-18 on the hwy.

Also, this truck feels like it’s building/adding boost much quicker/easier than my car does, maybe because of it being 1500 lbs heavier. Not a complaint and there’s no boost gauge, yet. Plus, you hear this blower much better than on my car with less throttle. Again, definitely not a complaint. And I’m only slightly confident that my car is faster, but you can feel the effects of the blower much easier than I anticipated, but honestly I didn’t know what to expect in terms of power delivery only that it should be much faster.

I’m curious as well as the only real towing I’ve done longer distance was this ~2300lb combo ski boat, at 55-65 mph and was right at 15mpg, but that was pre-SC. And that was very similar to my old/early 2011 EB. But that truck had/has (still around at 300k with a buddy) 3.73 gears and has never seen 20 mpg, but it started my real appreciation for the 3.5. As most with a 3.5 will tell you, along with all the magazine tests, if you put a heavy load behind a 3.5, it’ll suck down as much or more fuel than a 6.2 GM, but it’ll also out-pull it or any stock V8.

For the vintage Ford guys out there, the 68 Correct Craft Barracuda boat being towed has a Ford 427 top-oiler. It pulls well too.

Very cool runabout! That's probably 1/3 the weight and 1/3rd the wind resistance of my boat haha. I get probably 8 mph towing it at 75 mph.

Weird to be concerned about or even think about said MPG with 700HP under the hood of a 1/2 ton truck.
