Well I decided to start a tread showing the progression of my Stone Grey tremor. Boy do I love this truck, every time I walk by the window I have to take a peek. It was a long time coming, almost a year from the time I ordered it, and it was definitely worth the wait. The worst and best part during the wait has been spending all the time on the forum getting all the ideas of ways I can make the truck my own but unfortunately all the extra money I am going to have to spend ;).

There is definitely a lot of people on this site and it is great to see them sharing it and helping out us newbies with truck mods. Hopefully people will chime in with suggestions especially when it comes time to talk suspension. Finally get to build a "toy" truck

Here is a picture when I first picked her up, love the colour and so does Delta.

Had the truck for only a day before losing it for a week while it was getting PPF'd and windows tinted . Had the whole truck done in stealth. Here she is after

Well I left my comfort zone today. I like to tinker with thing but normally leave anything mechanical for the professionals, it is one thing to change the license plate lights another entirely to start mucking around the engine.

I decided to install the AFE Magnum Force air intake this morning after all they gave it a one wrench in the difficulty level. Installing was fine but removing the old one was a pain, especially the quick connect clip on the air sensor. Well all said and done and thankfully no check engine light, yet …. 🤞guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Below are a couple of photos of the unit installed before installing the COBB coolant cover.

That coolant cover looks a little fancier than the one I got!

Well added a build right stubby antenna and rear seat latch kit the other week. Have a J&L oil separator sitting in the garage, hopefully will get that in next week.

Then it is the big question what do I do about suspension and wheels. Have to figure out the suspension first but hafter going through all of the pages I am just even more confused. Want something fictional not just that allows me to add the 35’s. thinking of the BDS with Fox Performance elite shocks if that will work.

BDS says their kit won't work on the Tremor, but may be working on one. Many of us have the BDS kit with no problems other than you loose the skid plates. A true Tremor kit like the RC would keep the skids. The rear break lines and wires are different on the Tremor and they may make a bracket to relocate them down. I was just going to fab a little plate to drop it down a few inches just incase. Normal driving it's been fine, but hardcore axle twisting might pull on them.

Thanks a lot for the info. I knew that someone had installed it. Don’t really want to loose the skid plate if I don’t have too. I guess I will need to keep looking, or here is hoping that a kit does come out soon. I am not looking For a high lift, really more to level and add 35’s but don‘t want to add just a leveling kit. Want to improve the off road capability. Have to keep looking through the suspension thread.

Rough Country is your only bet right now. Keeps the front skid from the pictures. I was wanting this set up with the Vertex shocks but they don't offer them yet. Plus the kit says 100% bolt on and the instructions have you cut the frame. Called about it and they couldn't give me a clear answer. If I have to cut the frame might as well go 6" or more IMO.

Thanks for the link but it is not really what I am looking for. I really don’t want to use spacers in the front but would rather switch to a new set of coil overs with reservoirs and switch the back shocks to reservoirs as well. I also like the 18 inch wheel so would rather not switch to a twenty. I see that Yeti has tried alot of combinations most recently putting belsteins on the back, just don’t remember what he put on the front.

I think I remember reading that belstein was coming out with something, hopefully sooner rather then later

I got mine in Iconic Silver but that Stone Gray is sweet! Thanks for sharing your pics.

Well just got back from vacation and installed my J&L oil separator that I have had sitting around for a month or so. Now if I could only figure out what to do about suspension

It looks like several members are going to halo lifts route. @Bannerman just finished his install, this week so maybe give him a bit before he does a full and comprehensive drive review with jumps, high speed washboard and 60 degree off camber inclines.. :)

Thanks for the heads up will definitely take a look. I know that some people have installed the BDS kit but had to leave off the skid plate. I saw a youtube video the other day where someone installed the kit on a F150 that he had added a custom bumper and skip plate too. He was able to keep it by cutting off the BDS name plate. Wonder if that would work for us as well

Is that the dry air filter and by Dry I mean non-oiled?

The one that i currently have is the oiled filter, but i am going to by an extra dry filter to have on hand when i need to clean the existing filter. That way i can put in the backup up filter while I am waiting to clean the other.

Any performance / sound differences since you installed the air filter?

Performance wise it does seem to be a little more responsive when accelerating and gas mileage seems a bit better, at the same time I only have a few thousand km so the improved mileage could be a result of the engine getting broken in more. Time will tell with that I guess. I do notice when accelerating that there seems to be a bit more throatyness (I know not a real word).

Hi Fozzy

jist wanted to say thanks for some of the info in the past and was hoping you could answer a few questions about the BDS kit for me. Which kit did you install the 4” or 6”, with the fox comp shock or just the regular fox shocks. How much actual lift did you get and where you able to keep full articulation. I think that Yeti (so many posts by so may people, hard to keep it all straight) had posted that to get a two inch lift on the tremor you would need to use a 4 inch lift kit, that would give you proper load of the shocks.

Other then loosing the skid plate where there any modifications you had to do when installing. why is it that the skid plate cannot be added back, is it because the BDS lower bracket corners the mounting point of the skid plate. I watched a video on Youtube by AutoVlog where he is having the 4” kit installed on his regular f150 that has a custome bumper with skid plate. In the video they mentioned the same problem but modified the lower BDS bracket by cutting of the BDS name to work around it. Do you think this could work with the Tremor.

I really like the fox shocks so think this would be a good route but don’t want to loose the skid plate if I can help it

Thanks in advance

I have the 6" lift with the 5" rear block. The Fox DCS's are still on backorder. They should be here in a month or so. I have the puck right now while I wait. I will run them at 7" to keep the current lift hight and stance. Truck is 1/2" from dead level with the puck and added "Tremor" hight. On a stock F-150 the BDS kit with he 5" block will sit with 1-2" of rake. I like the level look and clearance for the 37's. I have seen people notch the skid plate itself on the F150 forums. Cutting the lift bracket seems stupid to me. The RC kit docent have the big skid ramp piece like the BDS. I haven't really looked into it. I am going to have a custom bar built out of 1.5" tubing the will fallow the bottom of the factory bumper and tie to the tow hook and frame. Then have a pre runner style skid going back to the frame. I love the look and function of the stock bumper. This will add some protection and a skid while keeping the good looks.

F-150 with trimmed Tremor skid and 4" zone lift.

The BDS kits have this skid/ramp that protects the stock frame most kits don't have.

Hi Fozzy thanks a lot for the info. I will have to see if the person who does the truck mods here can use the info to come up with some ideas. Seems to be up to me to do the research, and unfortunately I am not necessarily mechanically inclined. Have not done any customization to any of my other trucks. Figured it was about time while I am young enough to enjoy it. Thank goodness there is a wealth of information being posted. It just takes so much time to filter through everything, but I am certainly learning a lot, helps to make the discussions with the truck shop easier
