- 2023 Ford Tremor F150
Icon just posted this on Instagram. Hopefully this is a good option for the Tremor.
I wonder if that is their rubber stamped response as they say not compatible with Blue Cruise either. So I haven't seen these as a product from the, before.
That said, it still says not compatible with tremor![]()
ICON 21-23 Ford F150 4WD, 2.75-3.5" Lift, Front 2.5 VS RR Coilovers w/ CDCV, Pair - Icon Vehicle Dynamics
ICON Vehicle Dynamics V.S. Series 2.5” coilover shocks are an incredible upgrade for the front end of 2021-2023 Ford F-150 4WD trucks. ICON’s Vehicle-specific valving provides a sport tuned feel on and off-road while 2.75-3.5” of lift height adjustability allows the use of larger, more...www.iconvehicledynamics.com

that's appreciated feedback. i have no experience with Icon to date. just going off of community feedback. I hadnt seen a lot of negative info on them yet so its nice to hear this now before i make any decisions.Obviously everyone has a preference and icon has a reputation, but man....I've had 3 friends the last year/year and a half have icon c/o start leaking after just under a year worth of use.
They seem to be the cheaper option from fox/King and lately they have been showing why. Just an opinion/observation from one guy though. It was enough to keep me away and figured I'd share the experience, for what it's worth.
Super common for the the ICONS to leak or need rebuilt often. Especially if actually used off road. Every person I know with the ICONS have had to have them resealed. Thats why you never sell or throw away your stock set up. So you have something to replace them with when serviced. Unless you have a service center where they can keep the truck a couple days and refresh them.Obviously everyone has a preference and icon has a reputation, but man....I've had 3 friends the last year/year and a half have icon c/o start leaking after just under a year worth of use.

so is this just something inherent to serviceable shocks? the fact that they are serviceable, leaves them susceptible to leaking? i've never had shocks that could be rebuilt.Super common for the the ICONS to leak or need rebuilt often. Yes, being a performance shock they use different seals for better rod cleaning and less friction. The trade off is life of the seals. Most manufactures will have an on road rebuild schedule of 30-60K miles depending on the brand and half that for off road. In my opinion ICON is the worst for it. You don’t see trophy trucks running ICONS. They just don’t have the background of heavy off road use in extreme conditions like KING or Fox. But for the overlanding crowd they do perform great. It wouldn’t scare me off from them or any other performance shock. Just remember its not if they’re going to leak, it‘s when. This kit is a good price point but in the notes it says you have to run the Delta Joint UCA’s that add even more cost. Then if I remember right the UCA’s won’t clear stock wheels.so is this just something inherent to serviceable shocks? the fact that they are serviceable, leaves them susceptible to leaking? i've never had shocks that could be rebuilt.
yea i noticed that too.Yes, being a performance shock they use different seals for better rod cleaning and less friction. The trade off is life of the seals. I have not ridden on Bilstein 6112’s, but they are getting great reviews for a budget boinger. I have mentioned this before, I am just not a fan of the digressive valving. Just makes it more firm on the top but it does help with body roll. Fox has the best daily driving valving out of the box. My 2.5’s with DSC are incredible for a lift replacement shock.yea i noticed that too.
the fox 3.0's look awesome but are $3500 ish and also say not compatible with the tremor so those are just out of the question. and i honestly doubt i have any use for that level of shock. its just a cool factor. i've been debating the same with the Icons. I just like the adjustable damping. a pair of Bilstein shocks is significantly cheaper and probably would be fine for my use case but i just don't know. i wish i could test them before buying![]()
3” is overkill for anything but racing purposes. 2.5” is still overkill but fox 2.0’s are garbage.I wish Fox made a normal, non elite, 3" shock or tremor shock. Doesn't like like they will any time soon though. King doesn't make them either, not for a tremor use at least. It's wild to me that only RC makes tremor kits 3 years in.
Just received email from fox, they work on the tremor and provide 1”-1.5” of lift.Fox just released the 2.5 performance elite series for the 2021+ f150’s and they no longer say not compatible for the tremor. I haven’t looked at the shock lengths vs stock but maybe it’s closer to ours than what was out before. Just an fyi to those who are looking.
You can't get true 2 or 2.5 directly from Fox on the tremor anyways. It sucks. I'm steering towards these icons just because it doesn't seem king and fox are going to make tremor sets, and I want a better ride than RC. For what the vertex cost, I can get icons and the vertex aren't rebuildable.3” is overkill for anything but racing purposes. 2.5” is still overkill but fox 2.0’s are garbage.
So my personal experience with 9 sets of Icons. You can't get true 2 or 2.5 directly from Fox on the tremor anyways. It sucks. There are a bunch of people here running Halolifts. I would like to see a bit more on opinions and uses especially leaning towards the elkas. Is the halo setup the best option we have. I keep waiting for someone to make a fox kit. Keep hearing rumors of it but never see a kit with uca yet.
