My Tremor finally arrived on Thursday, April 14 and I got to pick it up on the appropriate day, Good Friday. This truck was originally ordered in September 2021 and Ford cancelled that order and made the dealer enter an order for a 2022 model year. Of course I originally wanted Lead Foot, which was now unavailable. The order went in with an order date of October 20. Originally the Ford Tracker worked great. I got an acknowledgement, I got a build date of December 13, and I got a nice photo of the F-150 Lightning I "ordered." Then crickets. The build date was changed to December 20. Then the build date was changed to January 10 and there it sat for two months. Finally, I get a call from my dealer that the truck is built and will ship, with a delivery date of around May 15. The Ford Tracker updated to the correct F-150 and that the truck was en route to the dealer. Out of the blue, the dealer called on April 14 and said the truck had been delivered that morning.

The truck this is replacing was a 2014 F-150 Lariat with the 5.0 engine, Ruby Red paint, 20" chrome wheels, and everything fancy for 2014. I bought that truck in a hurry and had to take what was available at the time. It actually was a great truck. But, I kept getting stuck. And I kept bashing the side steps on large rocks. Fortunately I never took out any of the expensive parts underneath, even though it did not have skid plates. Considered a Raptor, but really didn't want excess width. All I really wanted was a truck that was off-road worthy with locking diffs. Thankfully Ford hit that mark with the Tremor.

What do I think about the Tremor? Well, I've got the 402A package and it is pretty amazing what has changed since my 2014 F-150. Hugely complex it is. Actually, it is rather scary. But, hey, it is also really cool. Who doesn't love cruise control that reads speed limit signs and adjusts automatically? I love the 3.5 Ecoboost, although I'm used to it from our Explorer, it just seems better in the truck, probably the 3.73 axle. I haven't been off-road yet; all the good spots are still drifted in from the last snow. I did have the opportunity to pull someone out a snowdrift, but I hadn't put the tow strap in the truck yet. I sure it would have done fine.

A tonneau cover and bed box are on order, as are mud flaps. Window tinting is scheduled. I'd wanted to put some Baja Designs lights behind the grill, but the stock headlamps are pretty darned good. Might wait on the lights, but the upfitter switches keep calling.

So far, so good. Worth the wait? Well, it's a new paradigm. I still need to get used to it.

Congrats! It looks like you were a Jan 10th build and on chip hold for a while. The explanation about a random, early delivery without notification is something many on here have hoped for.

Hope you enjoy and good to hear the same holds true about these trucks being more than what was hoped for!

Congratulations on your new truck, you now have about 2 inches of extra ground clearance with it over your 2014, a better gear ratio, and a truck better factory equipped for offroading. I won't say you're getting stuck days are over but it is a lot more capable of a truck.
