Son of a gun. Just looked closer at your build sheet I didn’t realize I could remove the auto stop/start and save $50! Damn.

Yeah, I guess they started offering that to save some microchips.

Okay, so I have been hearing about 3-4 month lead times. I ordered mine on 11/29. Just got the vin number and notification that it’s scheduled for production Dec 13th. What gives? Is this normal and then they move it out?

Same for me- dealer told me March/April… I ordered on 11/26- yesterday got a VIN and a build date of 12/13… my dealer called me today and said to expect it mid/late Jan. They must have figured some shit out.

Me too… me too. 😳👍😳

@Colt45 Welcome and congrats. Glad Rockwall was able to get you the x-plan on the truck. I checked with them about being apart of the Costco program and that didn't do anything. Decided to just order with Chip at Granger on 12/1. Build date 2/14.

Congrats on the order, and welcome to the club

Hey Colt,
I just reached out to my dealer to ask if I can get this "stop/start" removal thing added to my build without upsetting the timing. And I think I misunderstood what it was for.
He said that adding this item doesn't remove the stop/start function (which is what I though) but that it removes the ability to turn the stop/start off. Which is the exact opposite of what I want!
Guess Ill have to add that $100 mod, always drive in sport mode or hit that button erryday. Oh well.

Anyway, you probably already knew that but since it was such a revelation to me I thought Id share.

Well shit. I hate that 'feature'...

The auto/start stop feature comes standard on the truck. It supposedly gives you better gas mileage, personally I think it's a pain in the ass. You can disable it every time you get in by pushing the button on the dash. You can choose to have it completely eliminated from the truck and save around $50. I think the code is 52X AUTO START-STOP REMOVAL.

At least Ford gives a physical button to disable auto start stop if you don't want it. It has never bothered me, I am not sure what my commute would need to be like in order to be annoyed by it, but mine isn't that. If I want it off I will just push the button, but I only think that would be during off-roading (and I am not sure if it is on in some of the off-road modes). Either way, I like having the option.

That's interesting. I figured it was to eliminate the stop/start function as well.

I think your dealer may be confused. My truck doesn't shut the engine e down at traffic lights.

You me and a bunch of other people too.

This from my Ford Dealer when I asked him to add the "Stop/Start removal":

"Is it from Ford?

If it is anything like the other vehicles that have the option it is a horrible idea to add it. It keeps the auto start/stop on all the time with no way to turn it off. The wording is VERY deceiving. I did the auto start/stop removal on a transit and the customer wants to kill me lol. We both read it and thought the same thing, it removes it, nope. It removes the option to turn it off. There is a module you can buy for like $100 that remembers that you turn off the feature and it is supposed to keep in the off position.
"

Guess Ima check out the $100 module. Though I don't like the idea of tearing into my dash and breaking 50% of the clips like I always seem to do.
