I was looking for short antennas and stumbled across Ronin Factory. They have a Ford Easy Oil Drain kit that looks interesting. What was most interesting was that Ford puts a yellow plastic oil drain plug on newer vehicles. Does anyone have any experience with the Ronin kit? I do my own regular maintenance and it seems like this could help streamline the process.

No experience with that particular kit but I assume it has the extension so that you can drain it without the mess, I've used a few different ones over the years and they do make life easier on vehicles with skid plates.

I have the Ronin on my Mustang. It's much simpler to use and I will be putting on on my truck at the first oil change.

I’ve seen the Ronin used for the 2.7L because they have the yellow plastic plug, but it seems like the Fumoto would be cheaper and better for the 3.5L. I’ve put the Fumoto on mine but haven’t changed the oil with it yet.

Did Ford go back to that stupid drain plug and plastic pan?

This has for sure been on my list of things to look into thanks for the info

Would you recommend the Fumoto one? It’s less than half the price of the Ronin one on Amazon

I like the Fumoto design much better, and I like the price too. It went on nicely, and everyone who has them seems to like them, but I have yet to change my oil with it. I got the one with the long nipple so I'll just slip a hose on it and drain right into a 5 quart container.

I'm pretty certain that's the one I had on a previous vehicle, slipped a hose over it and drained it without the mess, worked wonderfully.

Thanks for the info. The Fumoto looks like the way to go. Does the 3.5L not have the yellow plastic plug?

Crawled my lazy ass under there and definitely standard old school oil drain so did some looking and this company better deal for those of us in Canada.

Installed this last night here’s the part numbers with the elbow that you need. Going to be very helpful for future oil changes.

Ps go buy a keychain so I’m not stuck with these.
