Overall height and length?

Hello, everyone! I'm looking to purchase a new f150 tremor and was looking for some info beforehand. My neighborhood has some very odd rules in regards to trucks, and I'm not allowed to leave a truck parked in the driveway overnight (it's the worst rule and targets trucks specifically... nothing I can do about it. HOA bylaws can't be changed without 2/3 vote and we don't get participation in votes. I even talked to a lawyer to see about suing the HOA and it's not going to happen... so it is what it is). Because of the HOA rules, I HAVE to park my truck in the garage overnight, so it HAS to fit inside. I looked on Ford's website and found the specs, and had a few questions and was hoping someone here could help verify.

For the overall length, does this include tow hooks, exhaust tips, etc? Ford lists it as 231.7" with the 5.5ft bed. My garage is 234" deep total, so not much wiggle room.

For the cab height, does this include the antenna if there is one? it's listed at 79.3" and my garage opening height is between 80-81" (there's a 1" step up used to keep water out so it varies depending where you're measuring from - this is also the lowest point on the rubber garage door seal).

Overhang, rear - it shows this as 48.5", is that from the center of the rear wheel, or the tire to the rear bumper? I ask because I have a step that's about 8" tall and sticks out 3' from the end of the garage, so I'd have to back the truck in and the overhang would hang over that step.

I know this seems like a huge PITA, and I agree, but I had to get rid of my last truck and get a car because it didn't fit in the garage... so I want to make sure if I buy one of these I can actually keep it. Thanks in advance!

I don't disagree. I see you're in Miami, so surprised if you hadn't heard of this before. I moved to S. FL from Idaho back in July and had never heard of this before, but from what I've seen online it's pretty common down here. I just dumped +800k on a house though so can't really move just because of this.

What I know from growing up here is to never move to an HOA basically. Even if you check the rules before, they can change, and you have essentially no recourse. Unfortunately to buy without an HOA is quite pricey, though with an $800k budget you would be able to.

I measured as best I could and got 232 for total length that's from the rear tow hooks which seem to be the farthest out. I think you'd be hard pressed to really park with 2 inches to spare. It'd be crazy annoying to park every night within that margin of error.

Put some foam up on the wall and back the truck against it? It would only be the tow hooks making contact.

My garage is exactly 20' long and I have about 9" to spare. The top of the tailgate and the rear tow hooks about in line with each other.

I have a standard 7' tall opening and my antenna does hit as well - but I swapped to a stubby one to avoid that.

PS - the drywall damage was there when I moved in to the house

I'm glad I don't live in a neighborhood with that rule. For some odd reason most of the garages in town aren't long enough to fit a full sized truck. Mine is about a foot short of being able to close the door. My my parents looked at several houses (new construction and old) before they found one that would fit my dad's f150. You'd think in Wyoming that wouldn't be an issue....

48.5 is to the center of the wheel from the looks of it so you should be good. Roughly 30in from the furthest point of the tire to the tow hooks so you'll have a bit of wiggle room with the 8" tall bit...prob work out to be your park stop. Looks like height should be fine from other folks fitting in the standard garage door height/lip - no personal experience with a home garage but Tampa airport is a 6'8" clearance and it fits fine (parked next to a white one last round) Stock antenna does make a little contact with the clearance warning sign but not inside. I want to say the bulges at the rear of the cab are the highest point/whats listed on Ford's site with the oem antenna being slightly higher (I carry mine as a clearance check if I'm going somewhere new)

A lot of folks seem to level their trucks by putting FX4 blocks in the rear (effectively lowering the rear to level out the rake) This should give you a slight bit more room at the cab if you're worried about other things (like maybe the garage door opener depending on where/how it sits)

HOAs are dumb. I moved into a smaller one and got on the board as fast as possible...you have to do some pretty heinous shit to get attention What's your bylaws say about shit behind the fence?

Your garage dimensions are the same as mine however my HOA does not have anything about trucks not l allowed in the driveway. I park in front of my third car garage, haha.

Even in Florida, folks like an HOA (just like they do everywhere), in theory the "like" is because an HOA protects their property value (all the rules, in the end, equate to this, like them or not). So, that said, HOA boards are a democratic institution, if you don't like the rules, run, get your neighbor's support for you and run for the board, then change the rules.
I don't know about your specific issue, sounds a bit "extreme" but each owner has the opportunity to review and accept the rules before buying. I know I'm "one of those" a holes, but I like that the board (my neighbors) is protecting the value of my property. Agree or disagree, fine, but everyone has a choice when they sign the documents. so....ban me, hate me etc., but my money is my money, and I like it.

2/3 vote for bylaw changes are the pain in the ass. People may want something changed but they're too lazy/don't care enough after the fact to show it.

If @tonyd9448 can get the Tremor classified as a law enforcement vehicle through the AF (if you're active and have handy command) FL has a statute that bars HOA rules around parking LE vehicles outside.

I won't argue that all HOA rules make perfect sense, and sometimes they need to change, that is up to the homeowners in that HOA, and don't forget, each homeowner agrees to the rules when they purchase in that HOA. Ok, so that said blah blah. I get it, people suck, rules suck, my freedom etc.

Look, I drove through the neighborhood I grew up in, no HOA, and saw old couches and washer /dryer units sitting on the front lawn, no grass, just weeds, old torn up cars on blocks and on and on. ok, so maybe some people don't care about seeing that crap or care if their neighbor does that, then fine, it's all good, no HOA makes sense for those folks. However, a property square foot for square foot, quality of build to quality of build is worth 20%, 30%, 50% less than the exact same floor plan in a neighborhood with an HOA, so maybe you paid more, but you also benefited from those "evil" rules. When one moves into said community, owners expect that the rules be followed by all, in order that their property value not be diminished by those that "choose" not to abide by the rules.

Anyway, that's my opinion, I'm sure it's not a favored opinion by most here on an internet truck forum, I accept that. I, again, admit that not allowing an owner to part an F150 in their own driveway (if i'm understanding the issue correctly) is, on the extreme side, but I'm also one who has a neighbor that parks their POS kids car in front of my house on a permanent basis, and because it's not against the rules, I have no recourse.

I missed this thread first time around and gotta say i hate my hoa. It makes since that property values are protected but damn some rules are just flat out stupid. Country people shouldn’t move to the city, it’s almost like every time I do something l have to check with hoa now.
