P2AB8 Code?

WTF?
Driving along the day before yesterday and the dreaded service soon and wrench light appeared.
I cleared the code and went for another ride only to have it come right back up.
A quick googlenet search shows that it is related to the wastegate.

Anybody have any experience with this?

Looks like I am going to have to take the JB4 off and bring it in for service.

I just hope they don't try and put the blame on my intake or intercooler upgrades.

I figured. I have a JB4 and zero issues. Let us know what dealer says

I had some issues when I installed it.
The first one had a bad board in it. JB quickly took care of me and sent me a new one and all is (was) well.
It figures. Today is a holiday and the dealer is 100% closed.

Interim update: I e-mailed Terry with JB. (He got back to me within minutes. Pretty cool!)
He said he didn't think the JB4 had anything to do with this particular code.
Got an appointment for next Monday (23-Sept) at my local Ford dealer. I showed the code to the service rep, and he said it would be no problem to drive it in the meantime. Kind of freaked me out as I was expecting them to tow it to the shop.
We will see what they say on Monday.

Update: 23 September 2024: Took the truck into my local dealer and handed it over to the Service Manager.
He knew exactly what it was. The wastegate. Stated they had seen it several times.

Was not at all concerned about the aftermarket intercooler or Turboboost BOV. Said that had nothing to do with it.

The truck also has another code in the BCM for the 4wd system. (Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power)
They seemed to know exactly what that was too. I will post up what this one is when I get the truck back.

Crossing my fingers that this fixes these issues.

Update 28.09.2024:
They still have my truck. I spoke with the service advisor yesterday and the P2AB8 (Turbo) has been resolved. A quick check on Fordpass shows that that code does not appear anymore.
He was waiting for some part regarding the powertrain/BCM code.
It sucks to be without my truck.

The only good thing to come out of this that being without my truck, I finally got off my ass and rebuilt the front end of my Jeep.
I hate doing ball joints!
