Has anyone heard or used Permaplate before? https://www.permaplate.com.

Just got a call today that my truck is FINALLY at the dealership and they asked if I wanted to get the truck protected with Permaplate. 7 year warranty on interior/exterior for $800.

Thoughts?

Looks like it's a type of insurance. If it's only $800 total and not 800 a year sure.

they coat the inside leather and then coat the outside of the truck almost like a ceramic coating (I think). It's $800 one time payment. But if anything happens to the leather or other parts then they repair or replace. I think it's a gimmick.

I signed up for something like that once, but anytime I wanted to utilize the service I had to call a third party and schedule an appointment with someone who wasn't close to me and it wasn't easy getting a hold of anyone. Would really check the details on how that works and who is responsible for performing the work, or just pass and try not to soak your seats with tomato sauce.

Typically, this is a great additional profit for the dealership. As you asked; I would skip it, you can do better and/or cheaper on your own.

Yea, I definitely went 3rd party. I really don’t trust dealerships though. Just look at what they charge for the ESP and what flood ford charges. No way I’d trust them to do the paint correction required for a good job on a ceramic coat or even use a quality coating.
