We got 6-8 inches of fresh snow today in southern Oregon, not typical for this area. Decided to venture off on my favorite testing ground (a series of mostly-maintained logging and OHV trails).
Rising above 3000ft above sea level was where it got tricky. The snow here is very wet, very heavy, and it doesn’t melt or compact, so 6-8 inches poses as big an obstacle as 12-14 inches of soft powder.
I slipped into a ditch trying to avoid a fallen tree, am thankful for these Baja Boss A/Ts. They have excellent snow, ice and wet performance. Decided to throw my chains on after that to eliminate any chances of getting stuck. The deepest snow I drove through was about 10”. Not very deep but again, thick, like mud but far more slippery.
I’m also very impressed with the Tremors AdvanceTrac, the drive modes are very helpful. No matter how hard I tried to get it to lose control it always found a way to correct for me. Always bring a buddy, and if you don’t have a buddy atleast bring recovery boards or have a winch (two items on my wish list).
I didn’t get that many pictures, but wanted to share the story more than anything. Cheers
