Ok so I mentioned that someone ought to make a post about getting a group together somewhere and do a group trail ride, so here it is.

My take is we plan this a few months out pick a location that allows a good selection of trails and that also has convenient places to stay or camp.

We also need to pick a weekend when other events are taking place at the same venue, ex. Jeep jamborees.

My pick would be Windrock ORV, it's huge, has cabins and offers camping, lots of variety for people to learn on or test their skills.

I know some people in other regions this won't be convenient so I would suggest each region trying to work out something.

Personally something around TN/NC/GA is ideal because I can be there within 12 hours travel. I know the west has a lot of good areas also, but I likely won't be able to spring that trip due to distance. I could realistically do like a Wednesday to a Sunday and take 4 or 5 days off work.

Budget a couple grand more or less, not sure if that's reasonable but I'd imagine so?

If you guys really wanted to go West I could wait for the next trip, don't want picking a location to be solely based on my distance issue.

Yeah I couldn't travel to far myself unfortunately due to work.

Following, love Windrock. Might could make this work if I get my truck in time. Would anyone be down to ride the DownHill Park?

Would have been more than happy to, but due to injuries in Afghanistan I can't ride technical trails anymore.

Definitely, just built two gravel bikes for me and my girlfriend. Would love to hit a shooting range in the area also with my ddmv7 and g19 with the guys.

We love gravel riding too, wife and I have Niners. But don't bring them to Windrock, it's probably the gnarliest bike park on the East Coast.

Dude! This place looks awesome! I’m about to head to charlotte from Dallas and this my be a stop! Luckily I have my bike (Stumpy Evo) with me so I’ll definitely be hitting the DH park! If anyone wants to ride March 24th or 25th let me know!!

List of our trail systems if you are looking to ride while you are here.:

I’ll hit you up when I have a better idea of my schedule and maybe we can get a ride in!

Sounds good, I've not been riding much lately so not very fast right now haha, party pace.

I’d be down. It’s about 6.5 hours for me. Would probably drive up on a Thursday and come back sun.
Do they allow motorbikes on the trails?

Yes it's an ORV Park, utvs, ATVs, dirt bikes, 4x4 and a mountain bike park as well.

@Bannerman the best mountain bike park on the east coast used to be Snowshoe WV, I haven't ridden there since the 2001 or 2002 24hrs of Snowshoe event though.
Used to frequent Tsali as well.

Show shoe is awesome too, and it’s fun being able to use the ski lifts. Windrock is open year round though and is probably a little less groomed which suits my riding style.

You ever ride Pisgah? I do a 70+ mile race there most years.

Man, it's like 2 hours away. I would have to leave the compound... Fine! I'll need somewhere to try this out if they are out in time.

I looked at these yesterday (and today...and tomorrow); bought my Ranger EV yesterday and the learning/research led me quickly down the rabbit hole to this. Checks all my boxes but I am not confident enough for a deposit. Did you drop the hundo on the deposit?

@Bannerman went to a 12 hrs of Pisgah race several years ago.

@ Yeti I'm in the same vote it's about 2hrs away for me, I guess I could bring my old ranger 900 down with me, it's mainly used for farm, hunting and plow work when it snows.

Yeah, they'll build it. The question is if I'll fit in it
