I’m a numbskull when it comes to tires and wheels on a truck. And on suspension for that matter. I understand how to set stuff up on the race track in sports cars but not off roading. So I got my Tremor from a Ford Manager who sold it back. So he replaced the stock tires and wheels after he bought it.

my question is what advantage outside of looking ok is this mod. He put 20” rims ( black rhino) vs the stock 18” rims . Then he put 285 70R 20” nitro ridge grapplers on those rims
is there any advantage to this setup? I noticed everyone likes 18’s or 17’s
I live in Idaho so the general stock tires had the snowflake approval on the tire where the nitros don’t. They’re rated M+S and tire rack has the Generals and Nittos both rated the same in the snow. Does this matter.

I have the stock spare and I thought I’d asking Ford if they’d go back to stock but I didn’t want to wait.

Thoughts?

here’s what the setu looks like

Nitro makes great tires but they aren't 3pms rated, will they work, yes just not as well as a 3pms does in cold, snow and ice, however they will probably handle more abuse offroad. Most people who offroad go with a smaller diameter wheel to maximize sidewall on their tire, will 20's work, sure lots have ran them but the taller the sidewall the better protection you usually have, especially at lower tire pressures generally used offroad. That's the best way I can sum all that up without writing the next war and peace novel.

That was concise enough for me. Thanks.
