Anyone hardwire their radar detector into their truck yet?

I’ll be placing my Uniden R7 in the truck whenever it arrives.

Not exactly, but the V1 with the OBDII connector went in like butter and looks super clean with the visor mount and tucking the wire behind the door seal.

Sounds like a good option. I'll be looking to hardwire into my fuse box for power it only when the truck is running. So that'll get figure out eventually.

I hardwired my R7 detector in the truck over the weekend. I had a safe and sound hardwire kit I took out of my old vehicle, it has a small remote mute button which is super handy.

Picked up an ADD-a-fuse from Amazon (Micro-Fuse). I installed the ADD-a-fuse into slot #35 for the 400watt inverter run/start (passenger side fuse box). This turns power ON/OFF with the ignition button of the truck.

Ran the wire to the detector up using the door seal and into the head liner and over to the detector.

I installed my detector pretty high and tight to the headliner and as close the middle of windshield as possible. I use double sided heavy duty locking Velcro (10 lb. rated stuff) with the detector mount minus the suction cups.

Installed the remote mute button above the phone cubby on the left to easily reach it.

SO much BETTER than the coiled power wire bouncing around from the 12V plug in!!!

Got any pics? Was considering one also to put next to the dash cam.

I hardwired mine into Aux1 as the splitter from the rear view mirror was being used for the dash cam.

I hard wired mine with mirror taps off the back of the mirror. Also using a blend mount so the detector is right under the mirror.

Installed as tight to the headliner as I could with being able to access the buttons on top for volume.

Remote mute / lock-out / dimming button is mounted discreetly above the phone cubby.
