Mountain Yak (2021 F150 Tremor)
With 7 gallons remaining.
I was in my back yard (a small mountain) and had 50 miles remaining to E...
Coming down hill, mountain Yak started to run out of gas. Before I got the 1/4 mile down the hill, it died. I grabbed a 2 gallon can I had in the garage, emptied it, went straight to the gas station and put 27.2 gallon in..

Moral of this story, the fas pump is in the very back of the tank. At 6 degrees declination, it can't feed the engine.

Sorry you had that happen, makes me glad I was on flat roads the other day, it was setting on 29 miles to E when I pulled in at the gas station. Guess the moral of the story is make sure you have gas before going anywhere on hills.

Kind of a big drawback for an offroad oriented truck though lol

Agreed we need to petition Ford.
That's it, I'm canceling my order.

Jokes aside I have seen this elsewhere, I think may on Facebook there was a guy who parked nose down and ultimately got stranded at his mountain cabin.

Better downhill than uphill?

Great reminder @Yeti. I saw this issue mentioned on another forum, it left a guy stranded. I guess best practice is to keep a spare gas can when going off the grid.

Sadly it is... but hey, to each his (or her) own. Should have added a <Veteran Humor Alert> tag to my post or a Ron Burgundy "stay classy F150 Tremor Forum" pic. Clearly I'm just killing time while my RC Leveling Kit and lift is installed.

So instead of the Carolina squat, we have the Detroit Rake? I wouldn't mind that being illegal for selfish reasons.

On a positive note, my wife is an ultra marathon runner and didn't mind muling up a 2 gallon can.

On another note, when it ran out of gas and stalled, the steering and brakes worked perfectly

My Thread: https://www.f150tremor.com/threads/a-saga-truck-wont-run-snow-cold-park-downhill-low-ish-fuel.436/

I’ve been wondering if the trucks would die while running and descending. I hate this issue. I’m going to be fuel paranoid when exploring.
yeah, mine did. It was interesting that the steering and brakes worked well until I put it in park.
Things that didn't work after I just it down and tried to start it:
can't put it in neutral
no electric brakes
no electric steering
