We have a Boston Terrier that loves to go on drives with us. Unfortunately he wants to lay on the passenger's lap the entire time. On longer trips I make up a makeshift nest for him in the back seats and he's generally happy with that arrangement but he will try to climb into the front seats once in a while. I have seen a lot of ads for these rear seat protector/dog beds that have a solid floor. Have any of you used one of these and if so would you recommend it?

Thanks for your help,

Chris

I got the 4knines hammock thing/door covers for mine:

Not really a bed but keeps the fur and random junk down/keeps em in the back/still had airflow. I have 4 idiots though so ymmv/this might be overkill.

Second on the 4knines hammock, but added a couple big barker orthopedic pillows with bolsters. Basically the entire back area is one big dog bed. With Vizslas that also like to come forward, I added a lightweight grate that bungees to the headrests to keep them in back. Works great and is easy in and out. A recent edition is about 4in of semi rigid foam custom cut to the floor to keep them a little higher for window viewing.

I have a 20lb Boston Terrier as well. I use one of these elevated dog beds so she can see out the window. I have it placed in the back passenger side seat. It comes with a seat belt strap so when I commute on the highway I clip her in. Only took a time or two of trying to jump out of it strapped in to teach her not to do it. I originally got the seat because she would get anxiety on the highway, panting really bad, and it instantly solved the problem.

In town, she rides shotgun and I toss one of these Amazon seat protectors down. I bought two of them so the cover the other rear seats next to the bed when she's not up front.
