Received the Dreaded Call this Morning

Hello Everyone,

Bad news confirmed this morning with a call from my dealer. I was told when the order was accepted, all was "fine." Unfortunately, all the speculation and rumors were found to be true, my dealer told me the heated steering wheel and mirrors would not be included in my build. I was given two options, 1. Go ahead with the order with the discount of 140.00 or cancel the order all together. Quite honestly for 72K, I can't fathom the fact that living in Connecticut I wouldn't have a mirror I could see out of to change lanes on some of the most dangerous highways in the country. The heated wheel is basically a luxury, but for 72K, I think the luxury should be an expectation. Decision made. I will cancel the order and wait to see what pandemic, supply shortage, domestic policy, or political election prevents someone who has worked 45 years from getting the truck they ordered with the accessories which were specked. Plain and simply put, this is bullshit.

Did your dealer tell you that the mirror issue has been resolved (for now)? Steering wheel issue is still there, though. I saw it on blue oval forums.

No, I was told both, but I appreciate your info. I just left him a message. Discouraging news though, I am sure we all agree. I mean, how long is this supposed to go on? I guess frustration is setting in on many fronts. Thanks for the info.

Well, I agree with you on the cost vs losing features. It sucks. My 22 is in transit and I didn’t lose anything other than auto start/stop. I feel for you. I guess in this instance, it comes down to what you feel comfortable with and spending your hard-earned money on.

As far as when this will end? Who knows. I, for one, would like supply chain issues to end because I am in manufacturing and this crap is affecting every industry. Whether it’s steel, semiconductors or even paper, it sucks.

My small company doesn’t have the prowess, size, scale or budget of Detroit, and I’m really fucking tired of hearing myself explain to my clients, ‘due to supply chain issues…’ If you’re tired of hearing it; I’m really tired of saying it because all I want is to keep my clients happy and get them what they want, WHEN they want/need it.

I have been in Law Enforcement for almost three decades. We are experiencing issues getting uniforms as the materials in them are all from overseas and the supply chain issue is involved. Ammo as well. Ammo has gone up 30% and we can't even buy it when it is available because of so many people ahead of us on the prioritization.

When were you built?

No build date as of this morning, but according to the dealer, all of the trucks in the production process have accounted for all materials needed for the options to operate. So, in order to expedite the ordering process and not have trucks sitting in a parking lot for this thing to resolve itself, Ford has made the decision that they would delete the option.

Well Ladies and Gentlemen, you have an opportunity to do something about this in November. Every one of the democrats in congress voted for open border policies, these huge spending bills, and the insane COVID restrictions that are driving all of this. Every single one. There is no such thing as a moderate democrat in congress. If you vote any of them back in, don't bitch when you get higher fuel prices, higher food prices and even more restrictions on your liberties after the elections.

All I can do is price the job with the caveats about supply chain issues and the majority of my suppliers are domestic as that’s important to me. The import materials that I do use haven’t been available for the better part of 2 years. All I ask as a manufacturer is for some perspective. This shit isn’t easy or pleasant for anyone.

I’m a realist. It’ll get better. But until it does, we’re all stuck dealing with the same crap worldwide.

Things will get better. I often get a chance to talk to production at Ford plants. Sadly it will not be as quickly as we hope. in 2021 was told midsummer 2022, now a more normal is high-probability to be 2+ years down the road. 2024-2025 or later. Chips,parts,sourcing,delays, and some options will permanently just disappear.

Too bad , they couldn't let the customer pick 1 or 2 options to eliminate rather than them choosing I am still searching for a 22 tremor ( haven't found the deal yet ) before I either order a 23 or wait one more year.
My wife's 22 ST didn't have any delays, but did have a few options just go away. Only 1 was a bummer, the other 2 were really no big deal. Received some credits and rebates to make up for it too.

I'm guessing if enough people cancel their orders because they choose to delete an option for their own expediency, they'll fix the supply problem, quickly.

Sorry, but Trump was in office during the worst of the pandemic through January of 2021. We had supply chain issues and chip issues WELL before Democrats took the WH and Congress.
