Hello, I have read several discussions here on replacing suspension or shocks and many are upgrading or modifying the truck. I have a 22 401A and overloaded the payload (long story and regretšŸ˜©). The rear shocks seem to be damaged, I am getting bouncing, etc. Looking for recommendations for replacements, I want to keep the ride similar to the OEM shocks or improve without costing too much. Thanks in advance!

Have you read though this thread yet? Lots of helpful informationā€¦

Thank you! I missed that one, it appears the Eibach listed on that thread is not available until end of August. I had already strongly considered the Bilstein 5100s Thanks again, I will keep reading there.

Just replaced the rear shocks on my 23 Tremor, went with the Bilstein 5100 so far I like them a lot , slightly stiffer but still a nice ride, will be pulling my camper in a few weeks and Iā€™m anxious to see how they do.

I know, I know! Iā€™ve only had the truck for 3weeks, but Iā€™m planning on 5100ā€™s for the front but not sure on how much lift in the front, Iā€™m thinking only 1 1/2 I donā€™t want to be nose high with the trailer attached. Any suggestions?

Wouldnā€™t mind hearing that long story full of regretsā€¦ are the shocks visibly leaking? Also interested to hear when you do pull them off if they are easily compressible and if they compress at the same rate/with the same amount of force.

I have no reason to think i damaged mine, but when I pulled my rear shocks one of them was noticeably easier to compress than the other. Iā€™d estimate 60% easier.

I only have 10k miles on my truck and overloaded the payload a couple of times and damaged the shocks. I notice the extra bumps on potholes etc. I think my front are fine but depending on how the Bilsteins do on the back I would likely do the front too.

What were you carrying, how heavy? I wouldā€™ve thought the leaf springs and bump stops wouldā€™ve taken the brunt of it and not the rear shocks.

Did a 2ā€ Ready Lift on my ā€˜23 and Iā€™m still about 1ā€ higher in the rear. I tow a 26ā€™ Travel Trailer with Load leveling hitch and am still not nose high.

several yards of topsoil (1 at a time) and a yard of gravel. The top soil is just above payload capacity and the landscape yard gave me bad info on weight of gravel. Will only do half yards in future. Yeah, I thought the bump stops would handle anything once I realized how much I was sagging. I only went about 10 miles on pretty even pavement and never felt and hard hits.

thanks for the input, was it the block lift? And or did the ready lift kit come with the upper control arms? I assume you did an alignment after. Appreciate more info!

It is a puck style level kit designed specifically for the Tremor. Definitely had an alignment done. It was installed / recommended by my dealer. Ride quality is unchanged and am still about an inch lower in front than rear. 5000 mile in and absolutely no issues. Check it out on the Ready Lift Website. It was one of the only ones I found stating it was specifically for the Tremor. Kit comes with updated Cam Nuts/ Adjustment plates and uses Factory upper control arms.

Anxious to hear how this turned out.

So I ordered and have received the Bilstein 5100 front shocks, doing some research on the installation of these Iā€™m getting some conflicting information, regarding these shocks wonā€™t work on the Tremor, I ordered these from shock surplus, I contact them on the phone and they say yes they will work, Iā€™ve contacted stage3 performance cause they sell the same shock but they say that they will fit but they wonā€™t give any lift! I was never intending to level the truck only looking for an inch of lift or so! Anyone have any experience with the installation of these shocks in the front of the Tremor? And what to expect?

Please help!!

I just replaced my rear shocks with Bilstein 5100ā€™s and am happy with the results so far. For the fronts, they are listed as fitting the Tremor on Bilsteins website. I am considering changing them too. On the site itā€™s says they are ride height adjustable from 0ā€-2.5ā€.

Yea I did the rears a week ago and Iā€™m also am happy with them. I did see that on the Bilstein site, Im going to try to call Bilstein and get an actual person on the phone on Monday and get an answer to my question.

This is what I put on my Tremor. The instructions describe how much lift you get on a Tremor depending on the snap ring position. It's 1'' less than a normal F150 if I remember correctly. I think the ride is fantastic.
