I’m strongly considering pod driving lights. I don’t offroad but some of our mountain roads are very dark (402a bending lights are huge help).

Looked at rigid v diode dynamics and it seems rigid are significantly brighter (I want daylight type in front of me type lighting). Anyone ever own both? Are Rigids worth the extra $?

Diode dynamics usually has a Black Friday sale. Does Rigid?

Any feedback welcome.

I used to spend the money on Rigids, but they are so damn expensive that I can buy 5 sets of no name lights of Amazon now for 1 set of Rigids. Couldn’t tell you what brand of pods I have, but they work great, are plenty bright enough, got 3 for under $100, and had a design I liked better than Rigid or Diode

Which DD lights were you comparing to the Rigid lights?

Facebook marketplace steal $300

I know it’s not pods but it’s around 1300 and this one was still in the packaging

Always stalking marketplace 😆

I personally think rigid is a bit behind in innovation with there current line up. Baja designs is definitely the best bang for the buck output currently but they don’t have backlighting or modern TIR optics like diode dynamics.

If you just want a quality light that shines far, Baja designs would be my recommendation. Diode would be my recommendation if you like added cool factor of backlighting.

Are you looking at adding ditch lights? Fog lights? I’d be happy to share options. I have way to much money in lights on my rig!!

I am looking for a fog light replacement (preferably amber colored) for a 2025 F150 Tremor with the modular bumper (402A Package). I’ve looked at the Speciality Performace Parts web site and it appears as though all of the kits that replace the fog lights are for Raptors or pre 2023 F150’s.

There are no fog light kits currently available, I’m working on one as we speak. But I do offer a bumper kit that will allow fog beam lights and driving lights that would accomplish exactly what you are looking for!

It looks like the lights fit into the winch line opening, correct? If down the road a light kit become available to directly replace the OEM fog lights, would these lights fit the new brackets & openings or would I have to get new lights? What lights are you using in this setup?

Depends what style of fog lights become available in the future. For the kits I’m designing, I’m utilizing 2” pods for the factory replacement fogs and 3” pods for the dual pod kit. So you could shift them in the future if you wanted. The above kits picture diode dynamics and Baja designs lights.

Thank you for the insight. I’m really looking for driving lights that will make a dark road as light as possible with zero regard to blinding oncoming drivers. In fact, for the few idiots that failed to ever dim their lights I’m OK with blinding them.

So really looking for the brightest lights that go the farthest with the broadest coverage backlighting to me is irrelevant and lighting up. The ditch is a nice to have but not what I’m after.

Then I’d throw some Baja designs squadron pros in the bumper or do XL80 ditch lights.

The Baja are $$$. Maybe huge sale on Black Friday? Rigid is like 30-40% less. Hmmmm
Baja Designs is the best without a question if money isn't a concern.

I have 2x Rigid DSS Pro side-shooters, 2x Spot Pros and 2x SAE compliant Fog lights from Rigid. I get a pro deal at 40% off and got both of the F150 (21+) kits for $1000 even.

I think Rigid and DD are the way to go if you want something with a good reputation, warranty and value. Otherwise you could try and pick up some pods second hand from FB marketplace. I always see good deals on LP4s and other BajaDesigns lights.

Baja are expensive, but you would be surprised from a value standpoint. Cross shop and make your choice, just sharing what I’ve experienced.
