The caps for the previous gen trucks will fit on the new beds. I wonder if they are just doing some generational changes. I have the RSI SmartCap Evo Sport on my 2018 Raptor and had planned on moving it over to the Tremor, but cancelled my order and decided to keep the Raptor for now. If I end up getting a Gen 3 Raptor or a Tremor in the future, moving the cap is still my plan.I havent ordered but SmartCap seems pretty backed up just based on their website and they list coming soon for the 2021+ F150 model. (Aka does not yet exist).
They sure seem substantially better than any leer/are cap I've seen though.
That looks great.I really like it, even over Leer's I've had previously. The fact that it looks more utilitarian really helps too.
I read yesterday someone ordered an RSI and they were quoting February-22.Curious if anyone here has recent experience ordering these caps and if so, current wait time?
Does anyone have either of these caps installed and want to share pics?!
There was a guy who bought the 20 version for his 21. They ended up replacing the front panel with a bit longer one for it to fit well. I saw that same cap for sale about a month ago. I think he was selling his truck for a SD but can't be sure if that was the reason the cap was being sold. The caps for the previous gen trucks will fit on the new beds. Good to know! Interesting that they are doing that. As I understand the older tonneau covers even fit, so is it just the external dimensions of the bed? Not sure if you can tell by the pictures, but it never completely covered the rails in the first place. There was a guy who bought the 20 version for his 21. That was a wild ride!I ordered an ARE Overland beginning of August and was told 4 to 5 months. I clearly have trouble making up my mind though. I wanted a Tremor but bought a carbonized grey Lariat Powerboost. Didn’t really like the Powerboost so ordered a Tremor.
I then changed my shell color to lead foot for the Tremor. Lead foot eliminated for 2022 so then changed the shell to silver. This week I just decided I didn’t like the black on the Overland so I called to change it to a CX Classic and found out it’s too late as it’s already in production. That’s what I get for my indecision haha. Overland shell should be here in a couple weeks. Tremor should be here hopefully mid January
I don't know but if you swing by we can put your RSI on my truck.Good to know! Interesting that they are doing that. 1" longer in height?I don't know but if you swing by we can put your RSI on my truck.#Tireman was on another forum with his cap on a 21. he said the replacement front cap was about an inch longer.
length front to back added onto the front panel of the cap.1" longer in height?
There was a bit of a chill, Monday. I can't imagine what February will be like. I think I'd consider postponing pickup until JuneJust Ordered the RSI Sport cap, my local shop said expect about 8 weeks. Also ordered a bedrug. Hopefully pick up my Oxford White 402a from Granger sometime in February or March, I’ll be sure to post pics once she’s all assembled!
No way I can wait that long! I would probably wait until March unless there’s a good weather window in Feb.There was a bit of a chill, Monday. I can't imagine what February will be like. I think I'd consider postponing pickup until June![]()
I’m excited to see pics, especially since I ordered Oxford White as well. My truck will be here around then and I’m debating the RSI or ARE Overland. Kinda concerned about the all black, and general look, of the RSI. Also not a huge fan of the cost, but gotta pay to play.Just Ordered the RSI Sport cap, my local shop said expect about 8 weeks. I think the all black angular look of the RSI will look great. To me, a smooth color matched top makes the truck look too similar to an SUV/excursion.I’m excited to see pics, especially since I ordered Oxford White as well.
