I love our stock running boards personally. Only had one snow so far and haven't had issue with snow buildup. The boards are great because they have some serious traction when you step on them. My '16 f150 running boards were very slippery when wet. Only thing I'd replace them with are true rock sliders.

Some folks like the Amp power steps, but sound like they'd be a nightmare with snow clogging up the up/down motion.

Can confirm, I had a Platinum with retractable running boards and they were always freezing up in the winter. They look really cool but Never again.

I had no problem with the AMP running boards in the winter. I would not use anything else. But with a good set of mud flaps snow buildup would be at a minimum.

I have had 4 trucks with the AMP running boards and 1 F-150 and 1 Expy with factory power boards and had zero trouble with them freezing. But I know they are a maintenance item and have to be kept cleaned and lubed. Now my SuperDuty has factory ford running boards and on long trips the snow and ice will build up by the front wheel between the flap, board and door. I have had it so iced up I could not open the door without fear of bending something. My Raptor would do the same so I bet the Tremor ones will to if the weather is bad enough and trips long enough. Oversized flap would help for sure. With power running boards icing up, I'm man enough to take the extra 8" of drops getting out kick the ice free and help my family get out.
