Anyone else into boats? I picked up this J16 last weekend with a basically new Merc 40 CT (21 hours) for $5K. Needs some minor fiberglass repair but I can take care of that myself. I also ordered a Minn Kota Riptide Terrova 55#. Pretty excited about that, I-Pilot is supposed to be amazing.

This is at our cottage in Minden, Ontario. You'd be correct, it's about 13 inches of ice right now. Lots of ice huts on the lake ice fishing and snowmobiling. Boating season lasts late May till early October.

That's a beautiful Bennington. Seems to be more and more pontoons on our Lake every year. That and wake surfing boats.

We moved to the lake last Fall and wife wanted a pontoon because we had a kid on the way and have a lot of family and friends stay with us. I thought they were pretty dorky but I've been really impressed with the performance of this thing. Def not the same as a pontoon when I was a kid. TriToons have gotten insanely popular here as well, we were luck to snag this one in Feb of last year.

Yes the tri toons have gotten alot more performance lately, I rode in one last summer that had 2 350 Yamahas mounted, the thing was insane, absolutely no way anyone could possibly stay on the tube, mines hard enough with the 150 on it, tops out at 42 with 3 people and gear on board.

I totally get the pontoons, the best part of having a boat is loading up all your friends and cruising the lakes. You can load them up with people, and with the performance they have now you can still do watersports. I've seen people wake boarding behind them.

I’m the floating 21’ CC with the anchor line going to it. It’s a Triumph with a 140 Suzuki four stroke. Anyone remember those old triumph boat commercials where the boat would fall off the trailer down the side of the mountain and land in the lake?
