Hi folks.
As a prospective purchaser of a '24 or possibly '25 F-150 Tremor, I thought it would be useful to register here to learn more about the half ton Tremor and stay informed about things like the new order guides and next year's order banks opening if a suitable one doesn't fall into my lap by the time I can order a '25. Notifications for new posts in threads I might follow is very handy too.

I'm not a stranger to Tremors as I have a '23 Super Duty Tremor (yes I'm on the sister forum with a different user name) and I'm not a stranger to the current gen F-150 either as I have a '21 model. I suspect this will be the best place on the web to learn all the things I want to know.

What I do know is more or less what spec I want in an F-150 Tremor;
  • 3.5 Ecoboost
  • 402A High Option package
  • Iconic Silver
  • No sunroof
  • No Blue Cruise
This started when I took an interest in the new Ranger Raptor, but after a lot of research, there are too many minor potential annoyances for my use case with them right now and I believe I will best meet my needs with a new half ton Tremor and let Ford and the aftermarket spend a year or two sorting the RR issues out. Not ruling out going for the triple crown at some point. 😅

Please carry on, I'll lurk, read, drop some reactions, maybe ask the occasional question while I seek the perfect counterpart for the big truck.
Glad to be here. 👍

Welcome to the forum and in a few months, to the club as well.😎

The specs that you listed will definitely be a special order TREMOR.

I’m not sure if things will change for the 2025 F150 TREMOR so keep in mind that the current 2024 TREMOR can’t be had with the high end dynamic projector LED headlights regardless of the trim package.

All 2024 TREMORS come with the same reflective LED headlights.

Ordered a 2024 end of April like that but in white. It is on the rails now.

All 2024 402a have Bluecruse with 90 days free, option to purchase more. 2025 likely the same. Ford quit building 402a with the step tailgate too, all have Pro tailgates now. Options make sense to this consumer. But, “Any color as long as it is black”, remains entrenched at Ford corporate.

I am curious to see price increase for 2025. Ford increased prices 2% last year this time. Hope their costs run well below inflation and we don’t see more than that for 2025.

Thank you. Both of my current Fords have the reflector LEDs and maybe I just don't know what I'm missing, but I find them completely adequate. Aftermarket accessory lighting is always an option too.

Congrats on your soon to arrive Tremor!

What you say about BlueCruise Is most likely correct assuming activation is just an enable/disable switch in software. It's my understanding the 2024 order bank specifically for the Tremor model closed a couple weeks ago but Ford's configurator will still let you select and configure a Tremor for now.

It's a little ambiguous - BlueCruise does not appear in the option description as an included item, the BC info page just says available, and it will let me configure a 402a truck without the $2100 BC box selected. It is silent about a 90 day trial. (see attached images to see what's on the Ford site)

One thing I don't doubt is that pretty much every dealer that ordered a high option Tremor on their own probably included the three year BC subscription to jack up the sticker price. Probably not a deal killer if I run across an otherwise perfect truck that has it. It's nice to have the option to just walk away and order from Granger if the local dealers try to roll me. 💪

Edit: There it is. Footnote S4, shown on both the 402a box and the BC box. "Some options are not available separately." I would not be surprised at all if it turns out that's how they bait people into thinking you can get one without the other. "Oh, you can't get 402a without BlueCruise, read the footnote." Oh well, not a deal breaker like I said earlier.

Welp, I done did it!

Despite the best efforts of work related annoyances to slow me down, I finally completed my "due diligence" with my two nearest dealers and to the surprise of nobody, ordered my truck through Granger yesterday and got my order confirmation email from Ford today. I find I'm a little excited about the road trip, I haven't been on a vacation or out of my home state in 5 years. Will probably reach out about a possible trade in of my current 14th gen once the new truck goes into production. Doubling the road trip to a 2800 mile excursion could be a great idea or my dumbest ever, not sure which. 🤔
I've wanted to check out Rapid City, SD & Mount Rushmore for quite some time, might make a full on vacay out of this. :D

I stuck pretty close to my original build, just a couple changes;
2025 F-150 Tremor - Carbonized Gray - 3.5 - 402A

Threw in BlueCruise, block heater and the retractable rear step, I like that the initial BC commitment is for just a year instead of three so what the heck, I'll try it out. The rest of the accessorizing I'll handle back at home.
🎉

Had my 402a a month. Got my first chance to use Bluecruise the last couple days. Drove through Sacramento in stop and go traffic too. I kept my hand loose on the wheel and let the truck go. Works well, lulled me into trusting it. In heavy slow traffic it worked best following a truck, will brake to a stop and roll on as necessary to follow. Works following autos. You can drive more smoothly watching traffic ahead and anticipate traffic flow.

First long run fuel economy check. Hand calculated at fillip was 0.3 mpg lower. 402a 3.5 mostly empty, me and maybe 200lb

I got what I wanted.

Flew out to Iowa Wednesday, picked up my truck from Granger Ford on Thursday and started the 1345 mile drive home. I'll post about how nice they were to work with in their 2025 thread.

I did change my mind on a couple things before I ordered; I changed to Carbonized Gray for the color, and with the new one year for $495 BlueCruise option I thought why the heck not, I'll try it.

It's so similar to my current F-150 and yet not. It feels like much more a muscle truck with the 3.5/3.73 combo than the 2.7/3.55 in my older one. It feels bigger too even though it's on the same wheelbase. The higher stance is mostly responsible I guess. It almost looks/feels like an intermediate size between my old truck and my Super Duty.

Milage was definitely worse than anticipated at an overall 16 mpg for the trip but I blame the new engine and the fact I was cruising into a non stop powerful headwind that eventually turned into a severe wind warning that closed several miles of I-90 on the trip home and caused a detour. I expect that given a little more milage and more typical use, it will settle in right around the EPA sticker average of 18 mpg as compared to the previous truck which would consistently average 20.3 mpg for thousands of miles on it's 3-season tires, landing smack on the 20 mpg average EPA sticker.

Now I shall shup up and post some pictures, with minimal commentary.
