Going to finally get around to my Raptor heated steering wheel swap. Anyone know what size torx bit is needed to remove the steering wheel bolt?

T50. For the buttons and trim piece T20. I don’t need the Heated steering wheel in Hawaii but got to experience it for the first time here on the east coast in a new rented Expedition. Still here in Boston and was recently in Michigan where it was a little colder and man that heated steering wheel is a almost must have option for colder climates

I thought t50, but took the airbag out tonight to check wiring, and the t50 seemed a bit small

I’m pretty sure it is a T50 unless yours may be different? It was snug and tight when I used it. I know I applied a good amount of torque to it when tightening. I forgot what the torque lbs. was but it was a good amount. Didn’t seem like it was going to strip that bolt. I think it looks small until you try and use it.

I did try it. Was going to pull it to take off the shroud to check the wiring to the SCCM, but couldn’t get it off and didn’t want to hit it with an impact with how loose the bit was in the bolt. I am starting to think it is actually a torx plus
