So I am wondering if anyone is having a wheel balance issue? It may be me, but from time to time, I let go of my steering wheel and I see a little shimmy, like the tires need rebalancing. I know we have Grabber tires on our trucks and they are knobby, but it seems to me that there is a wheel balance issue. Also, I have had to let the air out of the tires. When I got the truck a couple of weeks ago it looked like the tires were a bit overinflated. Check the door panel and the tire pressure should have been set at 35PSI. I was pushing 40. I thought that may have been the issue but the problem still exists. Any thoughts?

This may be a dumb question, but do you have your Drive Assist turned on? It causes the steering wheel to shake when it thinks the truck is getting close to swerving out of the designated lane.

Not a dumb question at all. Funny you ask as I literally just learned how to turn on the driver assist function this weekend. So until Saturday I have been driving without lane keeping assist and other.

My tire PSI was the same — no shimmy.

You know honestly, I just left the tire pressure alone — temperatures have been dropping and I am already down 4 - 5 PSI since last month — I show 35 to 36 PSI all the way around. It’s probably part of the reason why it varies so much from the factory, because destination temperatures and elevations are different.

Purchased August 23, 2021 and just hit 921 miles — I average about 7000 miles a year. First few months with a new truck are typically a little higher due to wanting to get out to drive more often.

So here's the scoop! Finally got into my dealer yesterday. The service writer took it for a ride and said he cannot duplicate it. Then I said let's go for a ride together. He agreed. We got to a part of the main stretch of the rode and sure enough the little shimmy. He's was like, okay let's get in back to the dealership and get in on the rack as we can take a look.

Two things they found! I a bulge in the inner part of the tire driver's side. And the passengers side the balancing was off. One new tire is on order.

They are chalking it up to a Monday car. The bulge seems to be a defect in the tire.

Wow! Glad he went for the drive.

That is your lane keep assist letting you know you are veering outside the lane you can shut that off in the settings if you don’t like it.

Yep, my lane keep was turned on when I got mine new. Took me awhile before realizing the shakes on the wheel. I've had slight shimmies too on mine but it's different for each road. Think it's road condition related. Setting the pressure correct to 35 from factory 40 seems to make most it go away or less noticeable.

Did you ever get this resolved?
