2022 402A Tremor currently stock… wanting to switch wheels and tires but all the threads I’m finding are all mentioning a level kit. Due to past experiences I really do not want to put a level on another truck if possible. I would like to get different tires and open to different wheels as well.

Option 1 would be getting E rated tires on the factory wheels without a level, anyone want to chime in on that?

Option 2 would be getting E rated tires on new wheels…. But then opens the can of worms of offsets and bigger tires….

I’d like black 17s on a bigger tire but still having the ability to maximize the offerings of the tremor abilities that was engineered in it. I once knew all the specs to the Tundra world but crossing over to the Fords and then add in the 14th Gen and now the Tremor line and it gets a bit overwhelming on numbers and what can do what.

I am with you on this. I wish that the stock tires were E-rated. Not sure why they were not standard issue. I am looking at purchasing some more capable tires for load and towing. I want to install on the original wheels (that I like). I do not want to install any suspension modifications, but would like a slightly taller tire that will fit without any lift required.

It should be easy to find a similarly sized E rated tire. But when messing with the wheel offset it can be the difference between a tire fitting and not. You can take a stock tire and put it on crazy negative offset wheel and it will rub. I love this calculator when choosing new wheels and tires.

For what it’s worth, 295/70/18’s seem to fit fine on a stock truck with no issues. This is a good size to run for an extra inch of height and width, and e-rating.

Here is my truck with that tire size and before it was leveled. The guy at the tire shop said I had plenty of room too.

Nice look actually. What tire is that?

Those are the Falken Wildpeak AT/3W’s in 295/70/18.
Did you notice any changes to the ride quality with these tires? I'm looking at the same tire/size combo, but am a little concerned about the stiffness of the E rated tires.

Also, did you notice any change in mileage due to the tires and/or tire & level? I already have a level, just waiting for my OG tires to wear before picking up a new set.

I think the ride quality pretty much stayed the same. To me it wasn't super noticeable with the E-rated tires. My mileage droppped by around 1-1.5 mpg with the 2" level and tires though. If I baby the gas pedal I'm still getting 19-20 mpg on a flat highway, and 15-16 in the city.
