After reading about how great these trucks are for months mine finally arrived and I have the whole weekend to install a garage worth of accessories all you guys have unknowingly talked me into purchasing. After 8+ months of waiting I was afraid I wouldn't be excited when it arrived but I am. Only bad thing is Ford installed a temporary vent/emblem "plug" due to shortages, the dealer says it may be up to 6 months for the actual part to arrive, but I would much rather have the truck minus a non-esential part than to have it sit in a lot somewhere. This is the first F-150 Tremor through this dealer and I got a kick out of watching a couple techs, the sales manager, and multiple customers check it out while the salesman was showing me all the sync and mode settings.

I find it interesting that they can’t get the actual vent emblems, but they can get a blank made… I would imagine their vendor just couldn’t keep up, but if they can get a blank made by someone else, why couldn’t the additional supplier just make the regular vents as well?

Or is it a chrome shortage for the “f150” text?

The vendor that makes the ford emblems (and maybe the fender badges, not totally sure) had to suspend operations in august for toxic (hexavalent chromium) waste release into the wastewater system. The temps are probably made by a different vendor that can only do this type of fabrication. Ford even looked into 3D printing badging, but determined that the quality was substandard.

Looking at the simplicity of the contours of the blanks, Ford could just be 3D printing the temporary ones using their existing in-house equipment.

After such a long wait, it's a well-deserved Congrats! 🍻 It's mind-boggling to me how parts such as the vent/emblem could be in short supply.

Did you get notified of the “vent swap” in any way before pickup?
I had same problem on Tremor I just picked up a week ago and they didn’t tell me until after paperwork was signed and it was detailed. I ultimately told them there is no way I am waiting 6 months for them and they needed to sweeten deal or I was refusing delivery and ordering a ‘23. They ultimately gave me another $1,500 off and I found them online at another dealer and had them shipped to me for $560. To me the badging on the side is one of the things that really sets the Tremor apart.

They gave you $1500 off to wait longer¡ I’m surprised ,I hope mine are on the truck, most of us are 8 months and sitting for 2 months. I’m about to loose my shit and I work for them. “ KTP”. Maybe I get lucky and save since my trade in has tanked. really hate to pay this much for a vehicle

I made them give me more off because I could have waited two to three more months and could have gotten a ‘23 instead of the ‘22. I also sourced the side vents from another local deal in Fort Worth and they overnighted them to me and I had them two days after picking up the truck. If I hadn’t been offered $7k more than I paid for my ‘22 F250 Tremor that was just over a year old and 15k miles, I probably would have just waited three more months but F250 prices have been going down the past month and with the ‘23s now about to be able to be ordered they are going to fall more. Definitely loving the F150 Tremor and it drives even better!

That’s pretty cool! My trade in has tanked waiting 8 months. It’s costing to much waiting. I build the super duty’s. Won’t fit iN my garage 🙁

@DHouse316Not to highjack the thread but I must thank you for building my early 99 SD (built 10/98, I'm thinking one of the first ones) she's still running strong despite rusting to pieces. In fact I'm thinking I'm going to do a V-10 swap in to something (maybe my 77 Crew Cab) but man that V10 still runs smooth at 250K!

99. I wasn’t there in 99 but your welcome! Lol

Do you have a part number? My truck should be here next week and those blank side vents are awful.

Yeah I will be highly disappointed if mine has the cheapo black badges; just another thing to worry about

Thinking about making some calls to secure the real ones just in case

So x3 on the part # request

My new Tremor also came without the fender badges, and surprisingly Ford was not at all interested in making it right. I just found these, which include a Tremor version and seem the right price. I am not about to spend $600 on Ford badges. https://www.f150leds.com/products/2...oDhlmfEo4KykeQdVA1tISs1HHWtywIARoCTbwQAvD_BwE

Oops now I see it is just the light, and the badge is not part of the package. Bummer
