Hi all, hoping to draw on the collective knowledge here!

On my ‘23 402a, my nav and FordPass both worked fine when I picked it up, and up until about 5 days ago. At that time I got the following on screen prompt, and my on board nav now shows the crossed out cloud as well:
78121206-567A-4DC8-A8AD-597B302B0A2D.webp

Once the errors above occurred, none of my FordPass features work (remote start, lock/unlock, vehicle status) and of course the nav is not pulling real time info about traffic or other changes.

Has anyone seen this before? Any advice, thoughts, fixes? I didn’t see any settings I could change that would seem to pertain to the issue. Thanks in advance!

My truck started doing this last night as well. FordPass does not work nor does traffic / weather. If you come up with a fix, let me know. For the record, my FordPass app is updated to the current version.

I actually took my truck in to the dealership today to address this and another issue. The service guy I spoke with knew immediately what I was describing so I wonder if this is a new or recent/now common issue. I’ll keep you up to date.

I see you’ve also got a 23. Wonder if it’s more common there for any reason?

I have the same, but different issue. I am currently having all kinds of cab ECU issues with my GPS/Apple Car Play/ Sound/ XM radio etc. Took it to the dealer and they told him I needed a major software update. Left the truck over night and they cant get the module to accept the update so they are having to order a new APIM already pre-programmed. I will let you know what happens.

I've got a 23 that I picked up a few weeks ago. Truck was connected to the internet, Ford Pass worked fine....until a couple days ago. I noticed my Ford Pass app was not connecting and updating my vehicles information. I also kept getting messages in the vehicle saying that it was not connected and that navigation/other features may not be working correctly. I played around with the app, the vehicles settings, uninstalled, re-installed, reset, etc., basically trying everything I could think of or find on forums until contacting ford directly.

When I was on the phone with Ford, they had me go to my vehicle and check settings>connectivity>connected vehicle features.

When after pressing "connected vehicle features" and the screen went back to the prior menu, the customer service rep informed me that my vehicle is suffering a "known issue with the 2023 tremors" that ford engineers are working on. It has something to do with the modem.

He said they expect a fix this month, but does not know how it will get fixed. It may require a trip to the dealership, or downloading something onto a usb - things are obviously difficult when the vehicle cannot connect for over the air updates to begin with.

Pretty annoying and disappointing on a brand new expensive vehicle.....

Ooof, thank you for the update! That is the exact same behavior my truck is having. I also called ford and they at that time (4 weeks ago maybe?) did not mention this being a known issue, but I did the same thing, trying to get into connected vehicle features and getting kicked back to the prior screen. It has been wild because it only happens intermittnetly. Off for a few days and then back to working normally.

Please keep us up to date if you hear anything else!

I've had this pop up on me a few times but only for a few seconds while driving then back to normal. I have a '23 as well, I'll have had it two weeks tomorrow, so I'll keep an eye on it. Ugh.

I'm pretty sure this is their go to answer when they get to the bottom of their troubleshooting list.

I had this same issue on my 23 and after 3 or 4 days began my own troubleshooting.

Ultimately what got my modem back up and running was disconnecting the positive battery terminal for about 10 minutes then starting back up. Came right back online and worked as normal. Been good for a week or so now.

My 22 has this issues also. Everything worked for about 500 miles. Dealer is clueless. Truck now has 6000 miles. Runs flawlessly but none of the connected services work. I have tried unplugging the TCU and letting sit overnight (advice from 14thgen forum) but that didn’t work. I am going to try to force reset TCU and gateway modules this weekend via forscan to see if that works. I’m pretty sure the modem is toast but again- dealer is clueless and wants me to leave it with them for “a week or 2” without a loaner. Not an option for me so I’ll just continue to operate off the grid I guess.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.

Edit: Wow, this worked! For now anyway, thanks!!

Good to know that’s a possibility. Forgive my ignorance: does this cause loss of other saved settings like radio and seat presets?

Mine has now gone in and out of working sporadically another 2 times. Had another dealership take a look (of course it decided to work that day) and they couldn’t find anything wrong reportedly.

Anyone heard more from Ford about when and how this will be patched? Or does anyone have a number to call? Is it the main ford customer service number?

Mine finally did this to me today and continued throughout the day (multiple stops and restarts of vehicle). Connected vehicle not working, ford pass not working, etc. Only two weeks and not quite 800 miles into owning it. Frustrating. I’ll see if it “fixes” itself over the next couple of days and if not guess I’ll try the battery fix.

I’m not really a “car guy”. I can jump start a battery, but never actually disconnected one before. Is it safe to disconnect only the positive terminal? Just a socket wrench and then pull terminal away for 10 minutes then reconnect it? Or is there something fancier with these newer vehicles? Sorry for the ignorance. Thanks.

As far as I'm concerned, it's that easy. Did the trick for me and has been fine since!

Same issue as mentioned above on a ‘23 402a. Went through the whole troubleshooting guide from Ford and spoke with a FordPass rep. No success.

Found a thread on a Lightning forum that suggested removing the negative battery lead for ~2m. Tried it this afternoon and it seems to have fixed the problem; all functionality has returned. Hoping it stays fixed!

Okay so positive, negative, or maybe it doesn’t matter? Haha

Honestly don’t think it matters. Bigger discussion was around not letting the terminal “bounce” as you’re taking it off so it doesn’t spark and give little power spikes to the system. I’m no mechanic but it worked so I’m happy lol.

I run a school bus company so I just had one of my mechanics mess with the battery instead of me doing something stupid to it haha. He said it shouldn't matter which one you take off, but he took off the positive terminal. Let it off for around 10 minutes probably, not exactly sure, and sure enough everything is working as intended... for now. Ford Pass, Maps, connected services, etc. I didn't lose any of my settings — from my radio presets to my seat memory to my addresses on my maps and to all the driver assistance options, etc — the only thing that did change, which is weird, is the ambient lighting was turned all the way up which I'm pretty sure I had it set to around half way, and then my console cluster settings were not saved (my view, etc). At least as far as I can tell, I haven't been able to look over every single thing yet. So we'll see how long this lasts; hopefully a permanent fix is coming soon one way or another.
