Sync 4a screens

Got an email that’s said new screens are coming, anyone have any ideas on what will change?

Not sure if this helps to show more or not but I did hear they are trying to roll it out to all vehicles with sync 4. But as Fozzy said we don't have the 4a screen so still uncertain as to how that will work.

I don’t think I would want that big screen. I like having some physical buttons with their ‘clickiness’ ya know? But like all other changes, I’m sure I’d get used to it. But I won’t be getting another truck now for another 5+ years so who knows what will be out by then. I’m guessing that’s what is meant by 4a screen. I didn’t watch the videos haha.

I don't like the 4a screen either. Plus they always looked like an after thought, The landscape screen we have looks so much better. Anyone remember MyTouch? People hated having touch buttons only. I always try and use the buttons to save fingerprints.

From what I saw in the GEN14 forums, a lot of people are saying the list of people they sent that email to is wrong. Should have been sent to those with 4a screens only. Like some lightning owners. No one has been able to verify, just a theory.

Yep, obviously our screens are orientated the correct way and as a mytouch survivor I definitely won’t have another vehicle without physical buttons! I was just curious if maybe we’re getting some additional screens or styling cues from the 4a’s. Wrong email list sounds like a possibility though.

I also noticed my FordPass updated at the same time as the email. Added more EV charging details. Makes more sense its for the Lighting and Mach-E with the 4a screen. But I think the high end Expeditions now have the 4a screen.

There's speculation that the 4a will be standard on the 24 refresh. It's already on Edge, Mach E, Lightning and optional on Expedition.

Amen to that, the last 2 yrs they have dropped items off the new year trucks, it's sad that Ford has done this but at the same time, they are just doing what other manufacturers have done. My Boss has a trail boss and he just got the modules in for the heated seats about 4-6 months ago and he bought his in September before I bought mine in December, he paid full price upfront and they told him that within 6 months he would get the modules he was missing and the dealer would install, he still hasn't gotten everything yet. At least Ford just removed the items all together.

At least he doesn’t have to spend an extra penny to get it put in. I’m going to have to buy a whole new steering wheel, HVAC, SCCM, and wiring. I’m also not sure ford dealerships are even willing to install. I haven’t read anyone taking theirs to put the HSW in. They’ve all done it themselves, which I personally would never try haha. Throw in heated mirrors, blue cruise, and cup holder, media bin, and glove compartment lights all being deleted, it really is very frustrating. Only thing I can say is that I got the avalanche color, which I love, that is only available in MY23.

Dealers most likely will refuse this. When I had a Raptor, I wanted them to forscan the mirrors so they would autofold when locking and tilt when backing up. They said no. If it caused a problem, Ford would be all over them and not warranty it.

That was my thought. Since the only way to get it running properly is through forscan, they likely won’t do it. So dumb.

I'm happy I have a 22

I don't like the all touch screen in the higher trims of the Lightning. It seems like form over function when you have to go through multiple touch screens to turn the heat up and down.
