Hey Y’all, just wanted to give everyone a heads up. My truck is currently at the shop getting a ceramic coating (Pro and Local in Enfield CT. I can’t recommend them enough. The owner Paul is a great guy and does amazing work) he sent me these photos and said that my paint is really thin. He said it’s a ford thing right now. I’m no expert and I have no idea what constitutes thick or thin paint, but I’m sure some of y’all do and I know he does! Glad I’m getting the coating!

Looks like getting the Ceramic Coating done was a good call if that's the case. With all the salt here I wonder how well this paint will hold up.

Curious- what are they charging to do the ceramic coating?

Thanks

Last time I feel like I paid about $1000 for the coat but the truck needed A LOT of paint correction and we got the wife’s done at the same time so it all kind of ran in together. This time I just dropped it off. It did need some mild paint correction from the kids trying to drag the hocky bag up the side of the bed already… but I trust him and he always throws in freebies like window treatment and interior products so I’ll find out soon. As soon as I get the final bill I’ll let ya know!

Granger was charging around $3k for the full ceramic coat. I skipped it. Going to get it priced locally but I've heard at least $2k in Miami for a truck done well.

With AMB on the way specifically, this is good to know, and sucks to hear. Does anyone know the "nominal" thickness, if 2.8-3.0 is thin?

Just got of the phone with Paul at Pro and Local. Am coming in around $1600 with some mild paint correction, windshield and window treatment, and Ceramic coating on paint and wheels. Won’t say what it should have cost and what ceramic coating he’s putting on because he’s not supposed to discount it but I’m definitely getting a return customer discount. If anyone wants to reach out to him he said he’d be happy to give quotes .

Just asked him that same question and he said normal is 4 to 5 mills so we’re sitting around 1/2 to 3/4 thickness.
