So, I already have a couple things already planned for the '24 I got back around Xmas - front tint to match back, black lugs, and a folding bed cover - but have been thinking through a few others and thought I'd share and get some thoughts.
First, I think I'm going to get the Rough Country SF1 flares. I think I'm either going to do flat black OR have them line-x'ed, but I think I'm going to do the little slots with the electric spice color to match the rest of the trim. Messing around with photoshop, I came up with this

Of course the lighting is wrong and the images for the flares are gloss, but it gives a general idea. I think I'm at about 90% certain I want to do this look though.

Second one I'm thinking of is getting the tow hooks and skid plate line-x'ed as well, but color matched with the electric spice. I like it, but can't decide if it's too much. should I just go with black on the plate and only do the hooks with the orange?

Too much. People going to think you also buy pumpkin spice lattes everyday before work.

I think you should leave the skid plate factory silver, it’s going to get beat up, mine already needs to be replaced. The tow hooks might look nice though.

I AGREE WITH THEM, BUT IT'S YOUR TRUCK AND YOU DRIVE IT. CAN YOU POST THE FRONT SKID PLATE IN BLACK?

Upgrade shocks! OE are garbage…

Yeah, I can redo the pic with it black easily enough. Will try to do that after work today. I like the black look too, so wouldn't be against that.

While I like the look, to a degree, that's why I thought I'd get opinions on it before doing it, I don't want to get it and say "Gawd no" :D

I'll admit it, I like flavored coffee and Pumpkin Spice from time to time :ROFLMAO: That said, I don't want it to be too ostentatious! I mean, it doesn't have chrome, and I don't want it to look like it has orange chrome everywhere LOL

What about the Rough Countries with the highlights? Much more subdued, but still there. I definitely want protection from rocks, as I already have a few scratches from them just driving on our roads here and want to minimize that, and I like the look of those flares more than mud flaps. I think that would give it more of a "this isn't just a normal F150" look than the sides have with just the vents since I took the Tremor name stickers off.

Might be a later down the line upgrade. Any recommendations, though? I will say, though, this has me spoiled! The shocks on the 2016 XLT before this were TERRIBLE in comparison to the OE ones here. I will, however, be upgrading the brake pads and rotors like I did on the 16... Can't remember what they were, but man those things could almost stop on a dime!

Lol yeah they are good.

I'm a practical man, I like simple, muted neutral colors on my vehicles. There is already enough "accent" coloring on the tremor as it is, I don't think it needs any more imo.

If you are worried about rock chips, assuming you have factory tires with no poke, fender flares are fine. I have the SF1 to hide the 1" of poke on my 34x12. Don't get too attatched to fender flares. If you are offroad at all they will get scuffed up and scratched up from trees and brush etc.

Function over form. But it's your truck, you can do what makes you happy.

Yeah, I'll try to find the 2016 XLT I had, it was black... everything :D That said, I did everything I could to keep that thing looking nice, even though I hauled all sorts of stuff in it and had it for 8 years. Thing netted me 27000 when the guys insurance paid for it when he totaled it, and my original, after trade in loan was only around 35k. Only damage ever done to it was the deer I hit when I had it for 3 weeks, which is why I put on aftermarket headlights and grills.

I do appreciate the input though. I tend to try and think through things like this a lot, and talking through it like this helps me process what I want and what I'd like versus what just sounds good.

Just ask yourself: Am I driving a Ford or a Hot wheels car, that's what I say whenever I get funny ideas. :ROFLMAO:

LOL Could be worse, I could have bought a Tonka toy (FJ Cruiser or the new Tundras) or a micro machine (smart car) :D Yeah, I definitely want to keep it low key, but I do also like it being visible that it's a Tremor. It's why my license plates are SEISMIC

I was going to say the new Tacomas but yeah those fit the bill too.

Unless you’re doing extreme off roading stick with a 2.0 shock body.
Eibach, Fox, Bilstein

Here you go, did the orange hooks with a black skid. It was tough having the black go over the grey with the color replacement tool in photoshop, but I think gives the general idea. I'm definitely liking the black far better.

Cool, I'll definitely look into those. Maybe when I end up replacing the brakes I'll do those as well. I do have to space it out some, though, since I want to do this first round to hit the lower cost updates first and the 17 Camaro I inherited from my father when he passed is going to need new tires (and wheels, I don't like the dull gray ones that it came with) soon, and those will eat up a couple grand.

Trust me I get it. They are all money pits lol
You buy something brand new or close to it for a lot of money and then still find so much stuff you want to upgrade. If I didn’t tow I would probably buy Raptor. That’s the only truck from ford that comes fully equipped and ready to go.

Yeah, I think I'll go that direction 😄 I know that plate will get beat up, but that gray just stands out too much to me when the rest of the colors are black, orange, or the OEM gray wheels.

Sure. Orange tow hooks would look good. The orange depressions in the flares could be neat. But that orange skid plate is a hard no for me. One thing I like about some of the Toyota skid plates is they were stamped with TRD, and painting those stamps always looks good to me. Subtle.
