Hi all,

Plan to get a 2" Level for my Tremor and from what I can read it would still leave some rake . I have a 25ft Airstream on order and was curious if the 2" level would drop the back end too much when towing ?

Not knowing any of the specs for the trailer or the towing options on your truck and with my limited experience with our rear springs, you may want to look into Roadmaster Active suspension, air bags or replacement leaf springs. What I found with our springs is between 400 and 800 pounds of weight behind the rear axle, the rear end compresses about 4 inches with the trailer tow package optioned.

Guessing you'll have about 800 pounds of hitch and pin weight, you'll probably see an inch or so sag/negative rake

Sounds about right. I’m towing a much smaller lighter 19’ camper 5,500 Max Weight trailer and I get about 2” sag. The soft springs on our Tremors are great for off roading but too soft without a weight distribution hitch to help with the sagging. If I decide to take the camper cross country I would probably invest in the easiest on and off installation air suspension I can find. I would only use it when towing. I hate air bags for daily driving. I’m not even going to mention off roading. But I do great now towing even if it feels a bit soft with the stick setup! I don’t have a leveling kit yet. Waiting on a good Fox Tremor specific setup.

I have a 2” Readylift level and tow a ~4000# Airstream Basecamp 20X. Here is a pic of my setup without a WDH. I probably squat around 1-1.5”. I have a WDH but haven’t installed it yet. I would guess that I’d be pretty close to level with it installed.

I have a topper being installed in a couple days and expect a little more sag, but will reevaluate after it’s installed. E4863252-C082-4E16-AB66-7766FE0C2259.webpEEC3A05E-CBEB-4EB5-ADCC-0D03E79F0E27.webp

You could go with a 1.5” front lift instead of a 2” to get you more rake for when you tow - if you tow a lot or are not looking to achieve specifically 2 inches.
I put bags and cradles on mine - jury is still out on off-roading as I just haven’t had a chance yet. With just 3 or so psi in the bags I don’t notice them back there. I’m hoping the cradles allow stock performance / articulation off road. Of course the whole reason for the bags is to allow me to air up when towing a trailer to eliminate that squat.

How do you like that basecamp?

We love it so far! It gives us two separate areas inside if we’re working remotely. We wanted something like this since we rarely stay in campgrounds, and wanted to be able to be off grid for days at a time. We haven’t really taken it on any roads that a regular TT couldn’t handle but we’ve only had it for a couple of months.

Hey! I'm wondering how that 25ft Airstream is working out. We've got a 74 Airstream Argosy 22ft and it tows great. I'm planning to upgrade to a 25fb in a few years, and I'm wondering how it will handle.

With a 7300 lb loaded travel trailer and 860 lbs of tongue weight i had 2" negative rake with no leveling kit upfront. Air ride 5000 with 20lbs of air I tow at 0.25" positive rake. This is all while using a CURT WDH.
