I agree unless your coming down steep hills, I have only used tow/haul mode 2 times.I definitely prefer normal drive over the tow mode. Too much throttled braking in tow mode for me. Maybe it’s better for much heavier loads but for my boat around 4,300lbs normal mode feels perfect.
Interesting. One of my boats is only about 1500# but the other is about #6000. Wonder where the cut off is where Tow mode is worth using?I definitely prefer normal drive over the tow mode. I would suggest trying both out in both modes and see what you like better. This was the second time I towed this boat and I just don't like how it feels in tow mode, normal to me is the way to go.Interesting. One of my boats is only about 1500# but the other is about #6000. We live on the lake so the big boat (tritoon) mostly stays on the lift. The little skiff I pull all over but it's so light I'm sure I'll use normal mode.I would suggest trying both out in both modes and see what you like better. The times I used the tow/haul were around 7k so the lighter boat definitely not necessary the other like mine you may want to use it, if it's hilly or lots of stop and go traffic, the gears help save the brakes.Interesting.
