I am thinking of finding a trail this weekend or sometime in the near future — I am thinking of recording it, what would you like to see?

1. What type of video equipment should I use — GoPro?
2. What do you want to see in action (Trail Control, 1 Pedal, Turn Assist)?
3. What type of terrain (think Southeastern Ohio)?

I am not sure I am going to be up to the level of using rocker bars as a pivot turn assist — thinking of Yeti.

Thank you that would be great. I would like to see go pros on the outside showing stock wheel articulation and also hear your comments on how well it does.

Sweet! Would love to see how closely the mud/ruts mode forward projections match the tire paths in turns. And the e-locker in action.

So to do this, I would select the mode and take a initial picture of the camera image with the path projections and then pull through the turn. Then back up carefully through the same curvature of the path and stop where I initially started for a second picture to compare projection to tire marks of the previous run?

Hmmm..yeah that would do it. Or maybe just get out and look at tire placement in the turn, rather than backing up. I didn’t realize how much of a PITA this request would be!😬 If you feel up to it, cool. Otherwise I can do it myself when I finally get some trail time.

This sounds like a good test — I will do both.

1. Camera compare to tire track vs. projection (as described earlier)
2. Tire marks compared to photo of camera tire projections (may use some fluorescent cards/objects to place on the ground for reference points)

I can tell you that I have navigated the tight confines of the local KFC and Starbucks drive-throughs using the camera tire projections. To use in 2H, you simply come to a stop and push the camera button, then push the forward zone and it will add tire projections over the top view. Seems to be darn accurate — works in reverse also for those instances where you want to mash in a specific portion of the car behind you. 😉

I don't want to see anything until there is protection on that pretty truck

What type of protection are you talking about?

So, I am not going all out sliders, but the PPF sounds interesting. Is there a picture of a truck with the PPF where I can see the coverage areas — are you thinking the bottom of the panels or full wrap?

I am planning to apply myself along the bottom.

I'll need to do a full wrap because of how I use my truck. For your use, I would suggest looking into something for the lower areas like lower bedside, rocker panels, etc. similar to the top link but use xpel, 3m or one of the better ones. ideally they'll protect from stone chips, mud, sand, etc. being thrown up and you can get them in colors or clear.

The full wrap sounds like a pretty big project as a DIY. Although it certainly would help when on trails with trees brushing up against the truck.

I think this would be fairly easy to apply the bottom — I‘ll check and see if the 12” strip will work. I estimate materials at ~$75. I may also get some clear and do the front, hood and quarter panels.

Would you layer the Armor over the Ultimate Plus on the rocker panels if you did a full wrap? Waiting on Rotorhead to also chime in — the rocker panels look super simple. Yeah, don’t think the roof is needed — but if you’re burrowing through the tree line…

The full wrap DIY would be a few weekends — pulling the door handles, side and rear badges, bed plastic rail, headlights, taillights, and bed brake light — I don’t think I am going to even attempt the grille. Ultimate Plus 10 could run around ~$1500 for materials.

I think I would probably put the Armor on top of the Ultimate Plus just to limit potential seams. That said, I've never done any wraps myself and will not be doing my own install.

You could also go the old school route and have real Line-x applied and then just PPF up to it. Some people also Line-x their fender wells.

Yeah, I figured the same — put the armor on top of the Ultimate Plus to eliminate a potential seam. So I need to decide then:

Options:

1. Rocker Panels with Armor + Front Hood and Quarter Panels with Ultimate Plus
2. Full Wrap with Ultimate Plus
3. Full Wrap with Ultimate Plus + Armor Rocker Panels

I think option 2 is the preferred one — I can always add Armor later if needed. However, its a good jump for a first time into the DIY of vinyl application. I am I up for the challenge I think. I could always start with the front hood and quarter panels first and see how it goes before I commit to the rest of the truck too.

I looked at the wheel wells as a potential when I was at Line X. The representative said it was too difficult to get the coverage in the wheel well — spraying back towards the outside of the wheel well. I wasn’t in a position to be able to argue with him as I haven’t done it before.

Anyway, he recommended that I do a complete under protective coating — I understood this to be different than the bed spray and similar to what dealerships have offered over the years to all new vehicle owners.

Yeah...I'll be doing option 2 as well, but with the stealth film instead. I'll be doing mud flaps and with the running boards, not much will get up there. I have Rokblokz on my Raptor now and that is what I'll be going with on the Tremor as well. I'll need them for my 12mm offset.

Huh...I didn't even know Line-X did that. I probably won't bother. We don't use salt on the roads in my area.

Is the difference between Ultimate and Stealth the look — gloss vs satin?

Would love to hear your thoughts on the TTA in action, with the lack of weight in the bed, the trucks don't dig nearly as much as the Broncos do when we did our driving tests. On an actual trail I'd be curious to see the effectiveness outside of just a theory.

That is the only difference. I've had a shiny lead foot for 3 years, the pics I have seen of them with stealth look amazing. I want a slightly different look and the added scratch protection. Tired of cut and buffs after deep trips in the woods.

My standard payload in the bed will be about 400 lbs.
