Please help. I use wireless CarPlay daily in my tremor because the ford system is dated looking. One day it just stopped working. My phone connects to the sync and I can call people through my truck and all but when I try and enable wireless car play it fails.
What I've tried:
-Hold power and right play button to reset the unit
- removed the phone from the truck and removed the truck from the phone
- disconnected the battery

Still nothing. There has to be a trick to get it back working. Thanks in advance!!

Connect it hard wire. At one time my truck wouldn't connect wireless and I had to hard wire to connect it. Then one day it connected wireless. It can be a hit and miss with these trucks. I can connect wireless now, but still connect hard wire.

Hard wire doesn't work either. Tried. I am just using a iPhone charger. Still should work.

mine went fucky the other day out of nowhere. tried the hold power/forward trick to reboot sync - no dice. purged truck from BT on phone/readded - no dice. hardwired - nada. power cycled truck (i was driving and annoyed so just stoplight/traffic fixes) - started working fine.

maybe same? i blame canada

Always blame Canada, The Canadians can’t be trusted lol. 😆

Is you have access to Forscan or FRDS see if you can scan for codes? Or do an update with FRDS? Might help or point you in the right direction…

The odds are high that it’s your phone and not the truck. iOS fully updated? Power cycle the phone? Forget the Ford in Bluetooth and reestablish a fresh connection?

That's what I was thinking. It's a new iPhone Air. It's been working fine for months with it. What's weird is it still connects to the sync and can people through truck etc. but just the CarPlay portions won't enable. To get the CarPlay interface

If you’ve never used Perplexity….you’re welcome.

Have you tried deleting your iPhone from the SYNC system and adding it again?

What about a Master Reset of the SYNC system “instead”of the soft reboot that you’ve already tried.

Do you know how to do a Master Reset of the SYNC system?

I do not know how to master reset. Assuming I'll just have to to redo the settings I prefer once done?

Unfortunately after doing a Master / Factory reset yes, you’re going to have to redo many of your settings.

Before doing this, try deleting your iPhone from the SYNC system and adding it again.
Sometimes this will clear up the issues you’re having.

To do said Master / Factory reset, on the SYNC screen tap Settings, General, scroll down and tap Reset, Select Factory Reset, then follow the on screen prompts.

UPDATE-FIXED
ok so I did a small update on my iPhone. Rebooted it. Removed from all CarPlay and sync settings. Readded. And boom. It's back. I'm 99% sure it was the small iOS update that was keeping from working. Even thought it was unrelated to CarPlay

This is what I always have to do when mine acts up. Rebooting mi iPhone fixes it
