UCA clearance with 35x12.5s and chains

For those of you running a 35/37x12.5 (emphasis on the 12.5, if the width of your tire doesn’t exceed or meet 12.5” this is a moot question), what wheel offset are you running and can you take a picture of / estimate how much room you have between the side-wall and the UCA + spindle arm at rest?

Winter is coming and I may need chains on my commute(s), I’m worried the tire+chain will rub on the UCA.

35 x 12.5". +38 offset. There's not a whole bunch of space between... just measured it at the super-accurate 1.5-2 finger widths depending on your finger size. If I stacked index and middle fingers instead of placing them side-by-side, they'd just fit, but side-by-side, only about 1.5 fingers fit.


I don't know how much the images will help, but here they are...

And yes, I need a car wash...

Thats a lot more than I thought, so I’m not the only one. I’ve been thinking about this a lot and it’s really kind of a bummer that Ford didn’t make it easier to fit bigger tires on these trucks. My buddy is stuffing 37s on his tundra with a level and a little bit of trimming . To fit 37s I have to lift and chop
