Anyone looking at particular products for enhanced underbody protection? I’m thinking beefed up skid plates - oil pan, trans and transfer case, fuel tank, etc.
What are your opinions of the factory protection?
@Yeti - I know you’ve got some opinions on rock sliders (I think). What else?
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depends) I’m often exploring as a sole vehicle with my family and while I don’t go bouncing off boulders and smashing into things, I like the extra margin of safety and confidence that enhanced protection brings.
I have a set of RCI skids and sliders on the 4Runner and they’ve been awesome. I opted for aluminum skids (save weight, corrosion proof, maintain as much payload capacity as possible) and the $ premium has been worth it.
Curious what is out there to protect the soft underbelly bits of our trucks.

I'll go with RCI for the skids. Hopefully swarfworks will have the hidden winch mount, soon. I need to call rci to see what will fit with keeping the stock chin. I am considering aluminum this go round except for the dif and trans guards.

For sliders, White Knuckle is fantastic but he isn't showing a 21 compatible slider, yet.
I spoke with one of the guys at rocky road. Those may be a decent option for you. I do use sliders to pivot and turn on boulders so I may try to wait for wks. But their stuff is definitely better than side steps and may be a good solution for you.
