Finally get my tremor next week and will be having line x do the bed liner. Looking into the undercoating/rustproofing. Has anyone done either of these or had experience with either of them?

Pros/cons??

Thanks!

Did both the liner and undercoating — turned out great.

Some will caution against undercoating, particularly the kind that's like a bed liner or dries to a hard/rubbery layer. The watch-out is if a crack or chip occurs in this layer, water will enter and stay against the metal underneath the undercoat and cause the rust damage you're trying to avoid.

Just do like granpa' used to tell us kids after he sprayed down the truck underside with motor oil - "get out here in the dirt and run the livin' hell out of it" It was amazing how well caked up dirt/oil combination could do to prevent rust. No not pretty underneath but any older folks on here will know exactly what I'm talkin' 'bout.

I too have wondered about this, but I live in Atlanta and it almost never snows and we rarely have salt on the road. To be honest, I try to never drive if the roads are salted regardless. I would think that if you don't frequently drive on salt, you should be OK as long as you spray off the underbody when you wash the truck?

Similar to grandpa's solution mentioned above, below are some oil-type undercoatings, I personally can't vouch for any of them, just throwing them out there for consideration:

Fluid Film
Woolwax
Barrier Bond
